Underrated by the general public, but not by Colosseum fans like me and connoisseurs. Besides Jack Bruce Clem has also played with and recorded for Paul McCartney, BB King, Roger Waters, Roger Daltrey, Billy Cobham, David Sancious, Tanita Tikaram, Mike and the Mechanics, Rod Argent, Aaron Neville, Maxi Priest, Bob Dylan , Joshua Kadison, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Kiri Te Kanawa, Roger Chapman, Chaka Khan, Sniff and the Tears, Cozy Powell, Ken Hensley, Jon Anderson, Tom Waits, Chris de Burgh, Bonnie Tyler, Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Karl Jenkins, and some more. He also worked on soundtracks for well-known films, e.g. Notting Hill. It's unbelievable that Clem Clempson, who still looks youthful today, will soon be 74 (born 5 September 1949).

Did Jack choose intentionally pentatonic-guitarists to his songs?? Clapton, Gary Moore, Clemson - all play the usual notes. Does anybody know a more interesting line up about these good songs?

If there really is something like a "pentatonic-guitarist", it's Clapton out of those three. Clem and Gary can leave the pentatonic scale behind if they want.
@ymelfilm6 ай бұрын
@@knust2329 I meant, with Cream, they did not leave the pentatonic. Gary could go out of the box.

That's right - unfortunately his solo in "Politician" (14:52) sucks, and luckily it's his only one. But I know he can be a phantastic keyboard player!
@ShelterGimme-f3m Жыл бұрын
@@bobbynoe1 Who knows if Bernie has rehearsed this song? Did he know this song? Rory Gallagher didn't know "Politician", he improvised when he played with Jack in "Rockpalast". I'm sure Rory could have played a more interesting solo next time.
@bobbynoe1 Жыл бұрын
@@ShelterGimme-f3m First: "Politician" is one of Cream's most popular songs - unthinkable that an old hand like BW didn't know this song. And after all, this is a completely normal blues that any seasoned musician could easily improvise to. Maybe BW simply got the key wrong and didn't even hear himself.
@ShelterGimme-f3m Жыл бұрын
I agree with your version of an unsuccessful organ solo. But Gallagher didn't hear that song! How is this possible? He said it to Bruce himself backstage.

On a sad note (pun intended): Ginger's decades-long chain-smoking habit caused him to develop *severe* chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) that ravaged his lungs, causing him to suffer horribly during his later years. He probably struggled to breathe just moving about in his house. 😢
