Thank You ! But I play that before , I don't know it was McDuff . It is just one of my blues line on guitar , and I just copy my guitar to the Organ , simple as that . I am more and more interested to play , exemple , Hendrix but Organ , with a nice arrangement , some kick azz spirit . Organ is so Vast ! Tomorrow , someone will writen me $$ Step One from McGriff ( McClaw ) . At my taste , my arrangement , like I heard it . I have to do all with 2 hands . That's mean arrangements . A short cut thing , arrangement mean cutting all , except this and that . Nice things forever !

Hate to say this. I've been stuying and transcribing McDuff for many years now. This isn't right. I'm not equiped to make videos but I need to find a way to correct this. The bass line is incorrect if you are doing "Walking the Dog." It's trickier than you think.

Hi there. Yes I am aware it is not exactly the way he plays it. This is “in the style of Jack McDuff” and I do it in my own way as I do with all of my playing. It’s my interpretation. I can say however that I learned it from a Jack McDuff overhead Cam and the video that I got it from he plays it about 5 different ways. Like he changes it about 5 times in 5 minutes lol. This is one of the variations with one added passing note. So it is very close. My intention is never to play like others but capture the “spirit”!! Otherwise I would title my videos “exactly like Jack McDuff did it”!! If you have a way that you would like to share your version with the world I encourage you to do so and you can make sure that it is played “correctly” or in a way that feels good to you :). I always encourage musicians to to do their own thing and be creative. And that is exactly what I do when I play. Everybody’s musical brain works differently and that in my opinion is the beauty of music! Do your own thing while still paying respect to the masters. Sorry not sorry. Appreciate the feedback!! ✌️

It's obvious the goal is to capture the spirit of McDuff's style. I don't want to sound like a clone when I play. Instead, I'd prefer to take the essence of a great player and make it my own. Everyone has their own musical fingerprint. The challenge is to absorb all this information and develop your own style and sound. Great video, Mike! 🎹
