Also, I think that Goldie isn’t about the loss of a person, it’s about an older man mourning the loss of his golden years, “you’re finding it harder and harder, it’s been years since you’ve won,” is about how life gets harder the older you get, and he’s finding it harder to get a win, to feel good. The children in the video are also to represent those golden years and wins, as they’re by the trophy case and tributes to his golden years. “Take up my storage, it’s all your-age,” is how he wants his memories and accomplishments to be remembered by his golden years, and not his older ones. He’s willing to not make new memories so long as his best ones stay. It is still sad, for sure.

I don’t think you’ve reacted to more of the older Jack Stauber songs, mostly the ones from Finite Form, his first album. Most of those songs are more normal, but Mindsight is very, VERY Jack Staubery. John and Nancy and Dog Nightmare are good if you haven’t seen those too. And the most Stauberian skit(?) that Jack has done I think is Oxygen. Very weird and creepy.

Yeah rain is supposed to be interpreted as life. Life owes you nothing you could be the most kind human and die to cancer you could be the hardest worker and get fired you could be the fastest and still lose the race the other part of rain is the same basic idea I love being alone but I hate being lonely I always distance myself but expect to have friends and then I question why?
