YES!!! A MILLION TIMES, YES!!!! This is something I noticed, and I got SO excited when I realized it. I really love music and when people use it in such a clever way. Seriously, I wanted to tell someone about it, because it’s SO GOOD!! I seriously think I could talk about it all day, it’s marvelous! And let me just tell you, I was hoping you would make the connection between the We See You reprise and the trailer. When you did, I legitimately started crying, I was so happy! Of course, seeing these other comments, I feel a just a little silly for getting so hyped up, but I can’t help it! I just love when music does that!!

Something I noticed too whenever opal is ‘speaking’ or ‘responding’ she has that weird high pitched sounding cadence to her speech, and I think in the trailer it’s not like a outside narrator or something singing that, it’s Opal herself knowing something about the family isn’t right/knowing her pretend family isn’t right which is so fucking sad to me. It’s like she’s having a moment of Claire-ity
@saladfingersasmrparty97683 жыл бұрын
When does Opal ever speak? I remember she screams a few times
@ArtyTheNinthYT3 жыл бұрын
@@saladfingersasmrparty9768 well I say speaking loosely, she never actually speaks I meant just like a verbal response of some sort. However here in the trailer when the high pitched voice is speaking, I think it’s supposed to be her actual internal dialogue.

i think the leitmotif might allude to reality. It's after Easy to Breathe and Mirror Man, which are the real situation that Claire has to go through. Then it's used at the end of the reprise, showing the fake things in Claire's head disappear and pan back to reality when the leitmotif starts.
@alessa36973 жыл бұрын
That does beg the question why wasn’t it after mamas girl?
@arii16943 жыл бұрын
@@alessa3697 possibly because her mother manipulates her into a false sense of reality where she's the victim of the situation, and that her and Claire are the same, which messes with Claire's head
@AVMountainman3 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing about how the tune symbolizes her reality. You can actually hear it after the mothers song as she's saying "You're just as powerless as I am, Claire." Right before she lunges.
@carameloreo3155 Жыл бұрын
Whats even more interesting is when the tune starts as well as its noticeability. For the Grandpa, its about right after the song starts and can be heard the clearest. For the Father, it’s as his song comes to an end and can still be heard but it’s drowned out. For the Mother, the tune is very faint and slow, almost where you can’t exactly hear it, and plays right before Claire runs away in her room.
@carameloreo3155 Жыл бұрын
*of course, this tune is heard the most at the end - which, to me, implies that it’s these moments where claire is more aware than ever, whether or not she wants to be.
@user-tb8vr8yy4b4 жыл бұрын
OH MY GOD that tie between the trailer theme and the reprise at the end is so cool!!! I love that even though the chord progression is the same (F-f-C-C7), the two almost sound like they’re in different keys because of their melodies. The “something isn’t right” outlines an F chord (A C F) and implies our key is F too, while the reprise theme does that octave jump from C to C, kind of implying we’re in C. So layering them on top of each other is really cool! Sorry if this doesn’t make any sense but I just think it’s really interesting lol

I'm super late to the party, but I think the leitnotes symbolizes her consciousness. The reason why the leitnotes are very quite at the end of her grandfather and dad's song is because she kinda understands their pain (grandfather blind and uses TV to escape & dad rejected by the world and isolates himself with the delusion he's "the next new saviour"). And the leitnotes are heavily prominent at the last song is because she fully let her consciousness take over. However, the only character song we don't hear the leitnotes is the mom's. I think Claire/Opal has no idea what happened to her mom and can't relate to her situation. I have a theory that when we see Claire/Opal as her mom's pills it's because she's the reason her mom takes them. Maybe that's why the mom's song (in my opinion) is the scariest.
