I think Mass Effect 2 had the best final mission ever. Every decision counted, if your teammates were loyal or not, if you had the necessary equipment, if you chose your teammates for the required task wisely. It was amazingly done. The fights were intense, the music and the imagery made up a memorable atmosphere. I loved that game. :)

Sorry old comments, but ME1 also had nice ending. Not so epic of course, it was just the scripted ending that remained legendary as humble as it gets, as circumstantially epic as it looked.

I remember the first time I played this game. Was really not getting it together with my combat style throughout it, the kind of thing you do when you've got several tools you don't really use that much (biotic powers, guns, crew powers and abilitites, etc). I would get things done but I would take very long in every fight as a result. Then the final mission came and in this phase it really got together for me. I was really into the story, for starters. The timed nature of it made clear for me that my "hang back and fire" style was not applicable... and then the music kicked in. I guess it all kinda got in the zone because without even thinking about it I was moving forward at a steady pace (when I was usually the kind of guy to stay behind cover, fire a couple times, go into cover again, fights were very long for me) killing everything left, right, up and down, using my biotic powers, sending the team to flanking positions and using their powers, comboing them, massacring collectors at incredible pace, and still move forward. It really felt like everything had come together for me at the perfect time, at the perfect place. Epic feeling for an epic moment in an epic game. What an incredible experience this whole game was.

What an amazing experience, man! When I got to Omega 4 Relay I was already quick with the commands and mechanics, but the atmosphere of this specific last stage sure as hell did it even more epic. Must've been a amazing feeling to truly grasp everything altogether in these specific moments. Long life to ME Trilogy

There was three moments when I had a surge of energy. During the geth DLC, shadow collector(?) DLC, and this moment when you are raiding the collector base. Never felt the urgency to make such a push in the game.

Foo Quuxman I always send Legion into the vents because of all three tech experts, it is the most durable (Geth Shield Boost) and does most damage (Assault Rifle + Widow) so if anything attacks it in the vent, it can handle that the best.

Take Grunt and Zaeed with you to handle the Collectors. You'll hear "firing an impact shot" and "yeah, right on your ass" a lot, but they'll get you through in no time.

Me3 was a little disappointing. I mean, they didn’t utilize the Lazarus project in its entirety. They didn’t use the Virmire soldier that you chose to die to be renamed as kai leng to be indoctrinated to Cerberus to face against Shepard.

They were going for different themes, my dude. The endings served different goals. The end of ME2 is the definition of triumphant, epic, badass victory. It was going for a "hell yeah we did it" sort of feel. One mission, in and out, success. The end of ME3, on the other hand, is in line with the themes of *that* game. Sacrifice, a bittersweet beauty, an end to a devastating and brutal genocidal war. It just wasn't going for the same emotions that the end of ME2 was going. And that's ok, because it's a much different game, tonally speaking.

You're infiltrating the base via frontial assault. :^) Infiltration can also just be 'entering' a structure. For instance, S.W.A.T. and Police Raids are technically an infiltration.

That isn't actually the case, this song is used in the following missions in ME2 and 3: Dossier: Tali Legion: A House Divided Tali: Treason Rannoch: Admiral Koris Priority: Rannoch Priority: Cerberus HQ All of those missions involve a quick armed infiltration of a superior enemy position. It is also the unofficial combat vs geth theme of ME2 and 3 for some reason (the only mission where you fight Geth across both games that don't use this track for at least a portion of the mission is Priority: Geth Dreadnought.
