Join Jack and Jasmine as they travel down to Kalgoorlie on a shopping trip and discuss some of the challenges of living remotely.
Get to see the Saint Barbara Parade in Kalgoorlie that shows off the support for the town from companies around town.
Get up close and personal with some animals at Hammond Park, and see some camels that aren't getting shot!

Hi Jack, Jasmine and the kids thanks for showing us around fantastic and it’s wonderful that you are sharing the issues and problems you and the small town folk have with the problems with the hospital. This is the issues that Australia has spent millions of dollars on the outside of Australia and don’t look after everyone in the centre including the first nation people Australian taxpayers give them $40 billion a year, but nothing happens for the poor buggers anyway, I won’t get off my high horse Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺

Thank you Jack & Jasmine for taking us all along with you in the Cruiser, "down to town". I bet the girls enjoyed the trip and Christmas lolly treats, and seeing family, albeit enduring a long time spent in their carseats. How many "Are we there yet" questions did you get or are the girls well versed in the travel durations?! It would be almost impossible to pull off if you didn't have good aircon in the Cruiser. Stick with the cruiser! They're built for your landscape. How many cartons of camel bullets did you stock up with Jack? I admire your organisational and logistical skills and expertise, Jasmine! No doubt much bred into you living in rural WA places. Jack is a very blessed man having you to "do life" with, out the back!!!! Blessings from me to you, in little old New Zealand, David. 😄

Hi Jack, wow, that vid brings back many memories, Lived in Laverton between 1980 and 82. Worked for Western Mining at the Windarra nickel mine, running the diesel power station. Then from 2004 to 2021, I worked for Lockheed Martin at the Jindalee Over the Horizon Radar Network, on a fly in fly out basis, driven up and down that road literally hundreds of times, dodging camels and roos, plus the odd burnt out car. Sorry the hear about the theft problems, it wasn't that bad during my time there. Re the hospital, my ex used to work there as a nursing sister, and the place wasn't exactly up to scratch even then. Don't live in WA anymore, but I sure do miss it. Take care, and get them camels 😉😉

Hi Jack Paul here, Esperance. Regarding canopies. I have a gu patrol and it goes everywhere. We had wicked welding make a canopy for the patrol. It's to quality aluminium canopy painted white. We do mainly dirt corrugated roads, deserts, gibb river, Nullarbor. The main thing it excels in is keeping things cool, the engle runs better and chocolate in a draw in 35 deg and wasn't even soft. Cheers Paul Pratt

Like the fact that you give a insight into the day to day of life for people that have no clue of how things have to be done on a remote property, you can't just run down to the shop for a bottle of milk.

It's a logistical challenge just to go shopping, eh. With the canopy, dust will always find a way in. What I found to work really good is a flip up aluminium vent on the roof - for horse floats etc - to pressurise the canopy. You can put it down if it's raining or whatever. Locate it at the back so you can access it thru the tailgate. Luv the brick idea, haha. Terrible to let basic community needs to deteriorate

Thanks for taking us along while running errands in town. The girls look like they do pretty well in the car on those long trips. Or maybe they know how to behave when the camera is on them. Healthcare is WA is in such poor condition for such a wealthy state. I am staggered that the state government has decided to spend $64 million dollars on a firearm buy back scheme when roads, hospitals and infrastructure are in such need. If they were really interested in improving or saving lives they would spend in health or road safety.

Ive had a ranger for 3 years and done just over 100000ks. Most of it hwy and dirt hwy driving in nw nsw. Its done farm duties and carted fuel aswell. I did put in outback armor suspension so I can adjust it for loads and 100s of ks of corrugations etc. Well worth the coin. We have some problems with theft aswell but we kept the tub and put on a lockable ute master load lid. Takes 200kgs on the lid whilst everything in the tub is locked up and 99% dust proof. (No such thing as 100% dustproof in dusty Aus😂). This option might not work with 3 kids worth of gear though. Great for two people as we put a fridge on the back seat for shopping. Most cockies out here drive rangers. It's only the brand name posers in the city that claim to have problems. We also have 2 tritons that cop a flogging as full-time work horses. Despite the broken trim, sun visors and cosmetic stuff, they are reliable for work. All the bolt on stuff doesn't tolerate corrugations well though and seats have worn very fast. I've made up leather covers. Not pretty but functional 😂

Have a look at the fibreglass canopies that are built direct to the aluminium tray. The good ones are strong enough to take a rack full of ladders. Brands will vary on location. check what the mines are using near you. . i've been running a pair of second hand ones , on my hiluxes for 10 years now. they are realy good if you wire em up with a dual battery system and some lights. don't forget some load restraint . on a dual cab you can get a 6 foot x 6 foot tray, that will give you a lot more room.

Possible solution for communications maybe joining a shortwave radio club and obtaining permits for yourself and family. With the right radio and antenna you should be able to communicate across the entire country. Another Aussie on line said how good the Hospital was in China compared to what you have. He was amazed that he got treated in 20 minutes. Here in the USA we have plenty of money spent on equipment but you have to find a Doctor that wants to help. We have one of the most expensive medical systems and at the top for the most sick people. We are fortunate for what we have but it still leaves a bit to be desired. You're a fortunate guy to have a house full of lovely ladies! What a bunch of cuties! That would give a guy plenty of reason to get up and go to work every day. Do your children go to school on line, radio or is there a school where you live? Hope your efforts don't fall on death ears, and you and your people get the help you need. You'd think a travelling Doctor would do well there in remote areas. Is all that land all your ranch or is it open lands for every ones cattle? I can't understand why you can't have a gun to protect yourselves. If you've hurt your back understand that you have to change things for life. Don't stop doing the stretchs to keep limber because it doesn't go away if you've done damage to you discs. You're young you'll heal but it'll come back so know you have to change and don't do anything that compresses that disc you don't have to. I've had several injuries now, plus one surgery. I hope you two and kids have a happy healthy life as I'm sure you know how.

Hi Jack & Jasmine family , Jack i hope everything goes well with your MRI or has gone well as you are to young to have anything serious so i hope all is well . Jack as for the politicians nothing has changed since Bob Hawk was in . Hawk started out as a union man for the works ,then he change ship and what i know about him would shock people as his one of his daughters bought the house next door t one my elder family members and what I learned from that experience made me think hard about politicians was enough to never vote again plus my ex- husband was a member of the labor party ad he left the later party and that was 1981 . Politicians only want to line there own pockets these day , promise one thing and do the opposite unless they need votes so pick your time wisely to get what you need for your community. Good Luck it. Please put your heath and family first and don’t stress yourself out life if to short . Jack i don’t want to go on and on .

I feel for people that have to beg the government for health care. It should never be decided by bureaucrats. The USA is slowly being dragged in that direction. When the insurance companies and the government got in bed with each other it started getting bad. A persons healthcare should be decided between their Dr. and themselves. Let profit dictate not so called equality policies. When profit is taken out of the equation you get rationing which is essentially what government controlled health care does.
