The hood says 1 or 2 depending on the player. That said, I don't usually consider it to be too difficult to know which character I'm controlling, although it could be a little confusing if both players get too close together.

I used MAME++ 0.118 for this video, although MAME++ 0.119 is more common for netplay. You can find the game if you search for "jackal.zip MAME".

online its retroarcade with no downloads but its a bit jumpy offline its mame emu jackal us ver or bootleg ver on a 7Z zipfile or if you are still getting problems let me know because i had to be helped to somw install videos are not easy to follow an people was kind enough to get me up n running

How to use cheats in this game?

First, you would need to download the MAME cheat.7z file (you can easily find this with google). You would also need to use the command -cheat when you run the game, or you would need to change cheat from 0 to 1 in mame.ini. Awful version! nearly unplayable cuz the jeep moves so damn slow!! The NES is 1 million times than this crap Castlevania: Better on NES Ninja Gaiden (Tecmo): Better on NES Jackal: Better on NES Gradius: Better on NES Salamander: Better on NES Contra: Better on NES Konami sure sucked at the arcade, they only knew how to make console games during the 80's
