Great video. They are not blueberries mate, they are Sloe berries from the blackthorn bush. You can make Sloe gin from them. They are not harmful eaten raw but they are very bitter and can dry your mouth out. They are usually harvested after the first frost in October.

To add on to the comments about the sloe; here in Sweden we make jam and syrup with them as well (though I’m starting to suspect make jam out of everything we can get our hands on, including things that maybe shouldn’t be jam… looking at you, pine and moss).

What an amazing place!! You didnt look too cold at the end but I bet you were. If I were you I would have put a flask of hot teat in my rucksack ....... or something much stronger. Well done to Emma for climbing up to the base of the waterfall, looked ok going up but coming down much more complicated I think. I would think it wise to be totally sure about the weather before venturing in, imagine what that place would be like in full flow. Great to see the valley which you showed us from the Bothy, some great drone clips in the video as well. I havent a clue how old Emma is so I wont hazard a guess, she has got a lovely smile though and you both look really happy out on these adventures. I had a look at her postings on the program you mentioned, first time Ive had a look on there. My nephew uses it to promote his fish and chip shop in Ringwood. Brollys are known as Brollys down south and even further south they are known as paraguas!! (literally for water!!). Good luck from Spain!!

We actually ventured here about a month ago so knew it was okay to climb and had an idea of the water depth up there 😊 It was very clear compared to last time too so that was good! Surprisingly grippy to climb too! Good idea about the flask though I should have thought 😄

Hi thanks for the video, what an adventure, looks like you both had a laugh:) For your reference and possible intoxication, the berrys are Sloe Berry's, which can be used by adding sloes and sugar to gin, to make Sloe gin;) The mushrooms were fly agaric, which are poisonous. They are known to be psychoactive, once thought to be used by shamans in the northern hemisphere. Lol I'm not totally sure, but think that Labrador was actually a fat long haired retriever. Think that's what the woman's bemused expression was about;) Thanks, looking forward to your next adventure:)

Nice one Matt Em will be back out there soon now she knows you can make gin with them 😂 I can’t identify wild plants so I’d probably not risk it but I’d never seen a mushroom look as bright red I usually only see white brown or yellow ones!

@reasonsvoice8554 Жыл бұрын
Fly agaric (amanita muscaria) Is not actually poisonous as such They need to be prepared properly and aren't actually psychoactive either but medicinal in a few ways a really interesting species that a lot of information has been lost about over the years since people have been scared off of it by warnings of it being poisonous 👍

Nice one Jack, I bet you were careful climbing up those rocks at the waterfall. One tip for you on the navigation, I don’t know if you use the OS app but I started using it a little over a year ago and it’s a game changer.
