I have a rebuttal for the Templars vs Mages quest: The mages quest is a direct correlation to Solas's own storyline. The Herald only went one year in the future. The people they encounter were all their own companions, and all remembered the way the world was before. Imagine if instead they went a hundred years, or a thousand, into the future? If the only people they encountered in that future were those that had never known anything different? The likelihood of them being believed, let alone helped to go back and change it, would have been slim to none. That dilemma presented in the Mage quest is what Solas is dealing with the whole game

My in-universe explanation for the repetitive maps of DA2 is that since this is all a story Varric is telling, it's all playing out in Cassandra's mind. Varric probably described in GREAT detail the first time Hawke stepped into a cave/warehouse/abandoned building or whatever. And then every time after, he just hand waived it with like "Hawke investigated a warehouse," and his original description is so vivid that it's all Cassandra can imagine.

Sollavelan isn't overrated but it does feel pushed with all the talk about Veilguard. I personally find the thought of a women holding onto a guy for 12 years, unsettling. Don't like it, bioware women usually don't fall into that category. Cool for everyone that likes it, power to you. Just sad how Solas friendship seems to be totally forgotten about. Hope everyone gets a good narrative, not just people that click that egg tile :/

Thiw was a fun episode! I'll be honest and admit that I think the solavellan romance is indeed overrated. It deserves to be rated highlystill, but currently, it's overrated. I just think that soooo many people are soooo into it, when there's other romances that I think are also great. I feel like what really pushed me over into this camp was when Corrinne Busche used being a Solavellan as an example of her cred with being invested in the series. I'm not bashing her, I think she's seems like a very nice woman and I trust that she's putting her all into the game. I just don't like the kind of subtle implication that being into the Solavellan romance is proof of being more invested than say, being a Sera or Dorian or Iron Bull romancer.

ASDFGHJSADKSLK (around the 19:30 mark) THE WHOLE REASON DA2 IS THE GAME THAT FEELS THE WORST TO ME IS BECAUSE OF THE GOD DAMN REPETITION EVEN IN ORIGINS IT FELT SO MUCH BETTER SDFJKAKDFJA If I was in Jack's pov I would have started with the rushed development cycle and mostly just talked about that. Ramble time: Like I am not someone super active in the fandom but my DA buddies all love DA2 in a way I cant get myself too. Like, DA2 has some of my favorite actual combat but the repetitive rooms makes it hell for me to explore. I think the whole reason the Deep Roads in Origins dont bother me the same way is because it is a fraction of the game. The other repetitive areas in Origins are the random encounters that are really small so they don't bother me either. The voices in my head* make me double check that I get everything and it makes 2 just… so boring. *While I have several diagnosed disorders and what not, this was mostly made in jest. I don't hear voices in my head other than my own voice. I do have diagnosed OCD but I don't think thats a factor here since skipping things in 2 does not affect my mental health, it just makes me a little unhappy.
