Good tip: You can multiply your fertilizers with the fertilizer maker. The fertilizer maker accepts almost any item, including hay. You can use 1 fertilizer in the pasture to get 1 hay and then put the hay in the fertilizer maker to make 5 more fertilizers. You'll never run out of fertilizers this way, and can use them all in the fertilizer spreaders!

This is a huge money saver and a great way to use your extra stamina on rainy days. No need to water crops? Cut the grass on your fields instead.

I would like to point out that you don't need to have befriended Takakura to 70 affection to unlock Vinnie. I didn't start giving Takakura gifts until after I'd already unlocked Vinnie. As far as I know, Vinnie is just unlocked at the start of year 2, no friendship with Takakura required.

Here's a nice tip to add to the star bull tip: when your cow gets pregnant and isolated, keep an eye on the message it shows when you talk to her. Focus on the "give birth in some days" and in the "give birth soon". As soon as the message is the "give birth soon" and you want an specific gender, save your game regularly. If the calf is not the gender you want, just load the game and try again until you get it!

Enjoying the Wonderful Life content a bunch, here's a few things I've learned. Villagers accept way more than 1 gift per day. Giving gifts villagers accept from different categories (Cooked Meals / Digsite Items / Crops / Milk / Eggs / Flowers eg.) allows you to give up to 6 gifts a day on certain villagers. You can combine a Tree Seed with an S-tier Crop Seed to create an S-tier Tree seed and vice-versa. So you can have a steady supply of S-tier seeds for the sole purpose of upgrading seeds. For Crop seeds, Turnips work the best because they're fast growing, cheap, and grow in 3 seasons. For tree seeds, anything should be good. Each crop can be fertilized more than twice a day. In fact, you can fertilize once every 3 minutes and 20 seconds. You will know when you've fertilized enough because the crop will become a dark-green colour and you won't be able to add any more. Hope these can help!

When I use the auto fertilizer, 97% my crops go to S tier. If you just fertilize after milking your cows everyday or something, there really isn't a need to spend a day doing all that!

A little dumb thing I did: when your pregnant animals are in the isolation area, you can simply hop over the metal fence instead of opening and closing the gate door to enter.

The fertilizer spreader will stop putting fertilizer on your crops once it turns to s grade. So dont worry about overstocking the spreader

Pro tip: buy 2 sheep before the end of day 3, so you can immediately buy a Star Cow bull on day 8!! They will grow up just in time to shear. If you feed your sheep fodder+ enough this is how you get to gold wool the first time which will sell for 7,200 (120%) each at normal haggling and 8,400 (140%) each at max friendship!! We’re talking an easy 16,800 gold here so if you want the star cow, get yourself two FEMALE sheep. If you’re crazy lucky on days 1-2 you might be able to even buy a 3rd for the early game, then you can get rid when you need the space for more cows, goats, whatever. Also!! Since the game has been out in Japan for like 3 months already if anyone can translate their forums and datamines we could finally get some conclusive number answers. This is how I found out Van’s multipliers and his likelihood on haggling more expensive items. You really want to be friends with him, so give him an egg and a fossil whenever you see him! I have yet to see what meals he enjoys, but these two plus buying and selling from/to Van will max your friendship really fast. When buying, he only haggles expensive items and you have to be friends with him to do so. You can haggle with him multiple times for the same item, but it is less likely to succeed with each level of discount he offers. Plus, if he turns you down, your friendship will lower. It’s good to drop a save here if you’re planning to buy a discounted goat on year 2 spring day 3 so you don’t make Van hate you 😂

dawg how you buy 2 sheeps by day 3?? since the milk in the first day don't even cost much so even if you shipped it. it wouldn't be enough to buy a sheep the 2nd day since you need 1 (tomorrow after ordering) to be able to order another animal. then day 3.. this some advanced stuff and maybe I'm just getting too old to wrap my head around it.

in regards to 34 grass spreading by planting grass in a checkerboard pattern it will spread faster on a old save file i used to buy 50 fertilizer but at one point i had 250 pieces of fodder at fall and my grass was spreading faster than i could cut it

So I’ve tested this a few time, you can obtain the seed maker from Daryl by Spring 7 the first year. He takes 2 gifts a day and will take 2 fossils or gems without the need to vary them. Just walk back into his house after the final set of gifts and you should get the cutscene

You can give him and a few other villagers more than 2 gifts per day if the gifts are from different categories. I did a quick test and it turns out you can give him 2 dig site items, as well as 2 homecooked meals and 2 eggs for a total of 6 per day.

For the horse, you don't need to ship anything. I've never shipped anything, I just ordered some bird feed. Also, some people will accept multiple gifts from the same category, like Lumina accepts 2 flowers and Daryl accepts at least 2 fish.

Anecdotally, immediately after unlocking Vinnie, I talked to Takakura before ever doing a hybrid, and he mentioned the amazing field and it showed up in my ledger. Not sure what I did to unlock it, but it definitely wasn't making a third gen crop!

For the amazing field, I had to max out vinnies affection (or get it in the red but might as well max it as it’s super easy to do in one go) and then talk to Takakura. He then mentions he can clear the back area if we want and then I got the option for the amazing field. Also, the fertilizer spreader 3 will populate AFTER you buy the amazing field

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but Daryl will accept the same gift multiple times in a day. I was able to give him three moonlight ores and two fish all in one day. Update: it worked with Lou as well. I was able to give her two of the same milk Also I’ve unlocked the amazing field without making a crop that requires it. I think it’s based less on the level of hybridization, and more on how many times you’ve used Vinny to make hybrid seeds.

This game is so much more accessible now and I'm so happy. I love how true to the original games it is, how much easier it is to travel and actually farm your first year, the fishing mechanic updates, etc. I can finally recommend this game to friends. I didn't want them to judge the game based only on the outdated and clunky mechanics. The only thing I would have changed is Flora. Let me LOVE HER.

You don't need to be friends with Takakura to unlock Vinnie. He won't tell you to come over, but if you enter his hut in the evening year 2 (after having sent him to town, someone has slipped Vinnie in his bag). This happened to me on my first run where I didn't befriend him. (I'm currently doing a rerun with all my new gained knowledge 😅)

You got to pay attention on your hybrid fruits and costum fruits. For hybrids, most of them you get more money selling as fruit probably every single one! I'm still trying them all, so I can't assure which are better as fruit or seed, but for example the apricot (i cant remember the custom number) you can sell for 485g as a B fruit and for 100g as a seed

Personally with digging I dig in a spot get an item and move I get way less from 1 hole then I do when I just do each hole after an item is found.

Since I've played the game a lot more privately, the dig site becomes pretty meh outside of Chapters 1 and 2, so I generally pop down there once a day, dig up any obvious gold spots, and then dig up partially covered spots that aren't showing anything yet to see if they also have gold items in them.

There is also a rival cutscene between Lumina and Cecilia if both girls are 8+ hearts they will have a jelousy over the player outside the villa. Also tip you can use the scyth to harvest crops faster it will only harvest dead or ready to harvest, must use a hoe to destroy a crop.

@@marblesgonemadd Yes, you definitely can play the grave cleaning mini-game. The milk drinking contest was replaced with a cooking mini game with Grant, Hugh, and Van, but I'm 99% sure you can only do it with them after Chapter 2.

I saw in another video that breeding a star bull with any other cow breed, you have a 40% chance it'll be a star cow and 60% it'll be the breed of the mom. I find this to be true because every time I bred my star bull with my brown cow, they all came out as Female star cows. XD

So I got a cutscene with Celia and Lumina up at the villa. It felt very rivarly so I think that might be a rival cutscene? It was made pretty clear Lumina doesn't like Celia and at the time, they were both my highest bachelorettes?

My understanding of that cutscene is that it is a "random event" that only occurs in Chapter 1. It's not a true rival cutscene because it doesn't provide a window into a different couple, i.e. Lumina/Rock, Celia/Marlin, Nami/Gustafa. It definitely provides more context into how Lumina and Celia are as individuals though lol

The only friendship level that will decay over time is Vinnie's which requires you to make sure you talk to him at least a few times every few days or he will be annoyed and won't let you make hybrid crop seeds until friendship level is back up

Calling the horse is an instant teleportation hack. So long as it’s outside on your farm, you can call it from anywhere and you’ll instantly be mounted.

Has anyone yet figured out how to get the horse back in the barn at the end of the day when the animals are already in there? I don't know if it makes a difference whether you leave the horse out or not in bad weather/overnight, but the only way to get the horse back in the barn seems to be to ring the bell and call all of the animals outside and then ring it again to send them in. Am I missing something here?

You're not missing anything lol. Marvelous chose not to allow us to push animals back into the barn so you have to double ring if you want everyone inside. That being said, animals don't get sick or have any detriments from staying outside overnight. The only thing that matters is raining/snowing, so if it's clear, it really doesn't matter lol

8:03 you don't need to make friends with takakura to get Vinnie because I didn't give anything to takakura to make his friends level go up. mainly because I didn't know he only accepts milk or at least that's the only thing I just recently found out from my experience. I’m confused but I’m here to help. You can only buy the amazing field, which is the only field with highly fertile soil, the day after you create a crop that can only grow there. Once you get vinnie, I recommend just slapping some seeds you have together and check and see if the amazing field is avaliable for purchase the next day.

lol so I had 10 hearts with molly, and 9 hearts with Lumina. (I took lumina on a date to the fireworks first) in 2 days all these funny events have happened. somehow molly got 10 hearts, but we only went on a date. on another day, lumina was scared by Rock telling her there were ghosts, and she called me a ghost and ran away. later I gave her the blue feather, even though she has 9 hearts & molly had 10. I later went on another date with molly, but we still hadnt got to any marriage proposal. I went on a date with lumina then, and funny enough she wanted to go to the bluebird cafe so we had this awkward run-in with Molly. now im not sure what to do lol cause molly has 10 hearts but lumina has 9 & the blue feather. seems 10 hearts doesnt lock out other heart events. I even had a moment with cecilia by the pond during all that.

You are not seeing things lol. I paid $4.99 pre tax for some DLC outfits, of which the cow cardigan is 1 of 4. Gustafa isn't too bad, better than Rock IMO lol

Great question, and I haven't tested it. In the original, it seemed to have a small impact, but it might've been anecdotal. I would be surprised if Marvelous included more deterrents in the Hybridization feature since they omitted so many negative mechanics from the original games

I've heard so many contrasting viewpoints on the horse. Some people have reported you don't need to ship, don't need to send takakura to the city, and some people have done everything and don't have a horse in chapter 3. It's tough to perfectly replicate it seems lol

I got a male star bull and I save and restarted 50 times and did not get anything other than a regular cow :/. Just gave up.

What helped me was saving the night(has to be before 11:59 pm) before the calf was born and then reloading the save file if the next day the calf wasn’t a star female calf.

I don't save scum, so I have no idea how the game determines the sex, i.e. if its the day of or random at the moment.

I dont believe its a 10% chance to get a female star cow. From what i understand, you have a 60% chance to get whatever breed the mom cow is and 40% for the dad cow. Then its just 50/50 for the gender, so not much of a difference but its 20% technically. Also i recommend going through the whole birthing/naming cutscene and then just reload your save instead of closing out of the game. Its a bit faster

I've heard conflicting reports about Goats. Some say they don't stop, some say they do. Regarding S rank seeds turning back into B, I've only had that be the case when I'm using Trick Blues, since you're creating a brand new seed with those, instead of enhancing a seed that you already have
