I have two of the Jackery 1000 Explorers. I'm 84 and don't travel, but I've found uses all around my place for these great power batteries.. When you first did your videos on the Jackery, I bought one, then, after finding how great a machine the first one was, and how safe, beautifully packaged in it's plastic case, and how easy to use it was, a few months later bought the second one. By trial and error I now know what the Jackery's will power, but your video on what they will handle is very helpful to those of us who have a very inferior knowledge of electricity. Thanks for your ability to communicate so wonderfully.

One of the things that thrills me on a sunny day is how the Jackery can keep my 12v refrigerator/freezer at the coldest setting yet stay at 100% when hooked up to a solar panel. That's my favorite use.

I found it useful. Maybe frame it around a situation you’re in? Here’s what XXX solgen will handle when (1) you’ve lost power and AC, heaters etc are important (2) or when you’re camping (3) or when you’re tailgating etc - just scenarios where certain loads are combined more often.

I already knew most of what you were explaining, but it’s still a good watch especially for new people. My favorites are your product reviews that go in to battery chemistry, cycle life, operating parameters such as max charge rate, discharge rate testing etc. I haven’t seen many others test to the extent that you do, and I have learned quite a bit from you. I know your test procedures take a lot of effort but that is what separates you from the others. Thanks Tom

I like the format and I think it's helpful. Another thing I think you can do with this SoGen is charge an E bike. It may not charge it all the way up, but it should run the charger that comes with the bike, with the expected efficiency issues. You might include that in future videos of this nature.

You should be able to get a full charge with a typical 672 Wh (watt hour) e-bike battery. This would be equivalent to a battery capacity of 14 Ah (amp hours) @ 48V (nominal voltage). See below for hypothetical comparison. Jackery Explorer 1000 ---- (1,002 Wh * .68 efficiency) / 672 Wh e-bike battery = 101% full charge. Jackery Explorer 1500 ---- (1,535 Wh * .68 efficiency) / 672 Wh e-bike battery = 155% full charge. Bluetti EB240 ------------------ (2,400 Wh * .68 efficiency) / 672 Wh e-bike battery = 243% full charge.

Thank you for taking the time to do the review. I went with a 320W Wattfun (peak 640W) because I understood it to have all the same features, but a much smaller price tag, but still the ability to run a fridge/AC because of the spike/peak feature (to 640W) when the compressor starts up. I haven't tested my "science," so I'm hoping I made the right choice over the 1000w Jackery.

Excellent analysis & thank you for sharing . I have made a laptop charger by using a DC to DC buck converter , however not all laptops can be converted this way , especially Dell laptops , there are companies that specialise & supply 12 volt DC laptop chargers to most make laptops , the odd factor was that the laptop charger that I produced would only work if output cable from the buck converter was limited to a fairly short length , in my case the length was 600mm , any longer the laptop would fail to charge . I was informed by the professional laptop 12 charger supply company that a charger to the laptop that I have just outlined a 12 volt charger could not be supplied , hence why I produced the buck converter charger , so that was interesting ?, nevertheless from all my findings & with a stroke of luck my charger was successful . I think that the buck converter's power conversion efficiency is around 95% , much better then a full sign wave inverter .

With an insulated tent set up, this would be great for some winter camping. Especially if you wanted to keep a low profile. There are blankets that are 12V but many auto shut off.. wattage ? run time? ...? must be way more efficient than any space heater. food for thought! I'm loving your research and testing.
