Wow I just started researching this to review and after looking at the specs for the battery and still with the same solar input, this is a no go hard pass for sure. So many better units by far. I dont even know how this can be in the same class as anything out there like the Anker or EcoFlow. Still would rather have a bluetti. Jackery…??? Are you listening??? Change the solar inputs and the batteries, no one like NMC batteries that have higher chance of fire risks. Good review, poor product. Thanks Hobotech 👍🏼

I was complaining about others complaining in the comments about the fact that the Jackery doesn't use life PO4 batteries until I did some research and realized that my blueetti does and will last much longer than this unit. So instead of buying the Jackery 3000 pro I decided to buy to external Bluetti B230 batteries with 2,000 watts each bringing me up to 6,000 watts for $300 more. I have a few Jackerys and they work great but when you're spending this kind of money you want something that will last.

The power station itself is pretty cool, but those app options are really nice. The ability to keep your SOC between 15% and 85% is genius. I predict every serious player in this space, even those using LFP battery cells, will eventually offer something similar. "EIGHT HUNDRED POUNDS!" I LOL'd even after seeing the on-screen clarification. :) Disclaimer - "No cats were probed in the making of this video."

@@EfficientRVer You make a lot of good points, but there are counterpoints to each that are also valid. You can always turn off the battery setting, giving you the full capacity to work with, but how often do you draw any battery down to zero, anyway? I agree that LFP is the absolute best way to go for stationary storage, but for mobile applications, NMC weighs less per wh, and that matters in many situations. A bi-directional PD port on a unit with a massive battery doesn't make much sense. Nobody is charging units this size with a PD port or their car accessory plug. Who has time for that? I'm not sure where you got the idea that LFP has 6-10 times the cycle life of NMC...it's more like 3-4 times, so you have to be confusing it with SLA. Frankly, units like this are likely going to expire from calendar aging before the battery cycle life becomes an issue, and that's true regardless of whether you're talking LFP or NMC. Say you "only" get 1,000 cycles from the NMC battery before it's down to 80% DoD. If you go camping 50 times a year, that's still 20 years worth of service, at which point you STILL have 80% of original capacity. I've got a 10 year-old Android tablet with an NMC pouch cell and it still works...just not as long as it used to. ;) Yes, it's a premium brand at a premium price. I'd buy a Pecron before buying anything Jackery, but for older folks who are really concerned about how much something weighs, this might be exactly what they're needing.

That goes 100% the same for our outikel p2001 model, same weight, about 10 pounds heavier to make 3kw of power in that model. update 2: we have to allow fair debate on these channels or else what's the point of having them. Best review on the planet as usual. Great product if you like portability and only use once in a while. I think it was a conscious decision from Jackery to use Lithium batteries, they might be trying to avoid direct competition with Ecoflow and Bluetti by focusing on a niche of people who from multiple reasons would prefer a lighter option for storing 3000 wh. I still prefer LFP batteries solutions, but I see the value of having this option on the market.

How to locate when the frig isn't near the laundry room or the (reduced) living area that might be heated or cooled? Is it simply a matter of long extension cords & wisely balancing loads? I am unclear of one possible use for this solar generator. Can you tell me if it can be used with a small gasoline 1kw generator and supply up to the 3kw as needed or would it be limited to 1kw output because of the UPS function? I realize you can't draw 3KW forever but if only for short times where the 1kw generator could keep the battery up, that would be a great addition to someone with an RV and a small genset. Running the microwave with a 1kw generator shure would be nice if it were possible without disconnection the input and then having to reconnect after using the solar generator to get the power needed. Do other solar generators allow such use?

Well done review. Thank you. Would be really nice to have some 12v/10a DC5521 output ports. In a auto/truck camping situation, you are going to have a lot a 12v things you want to power off this unit and cigarette outlets suck versus barrel connectors. Frankly, not having a couple of 12v/10a DC5521 output ports would cause me to look at other units. It isnt like there isn't room on the front of that monster for more output ports.

@@viablybodacious302 LiPo batteries would translate into an 85+ pound unit, so it's a tradeoff. Perhaps the ability to restrict the Jackery battery to a charge between 15 and 85% will make up for some of the difference in battery life. Time will tell.
@jaysonstebbins2539
@jaysonstebbins2539 Жыл бұрын
@viablybodacious302 if you find the right panels you can run what you want. And honestly it's gonna be very rare someone uses 2000wh every single day and even if they do they aren't running from 100% every day. If I run a delta pro with 3500 life cycles from 100% to 50% then charge back to 100% that's only a half life cycle . So now 3500 becomes 7000 life cycles or better. Same goes for the delta max. 800 life cycles is 1600 life cycles with only using half its capacity. And if not used to its full 2200 watts or hard cycles and only running a modem and fridge than you can get more cycles out of it. Maybe even close to 1500-2000 cycles and that's just to 80% capacity. These units aren't cycled 100% daily. They are just rated for full life cycles to their testing.

Thank you for this most excellent review/presentation. I use a hotspot in my RV. My RV runs on a Predator 4500 inverter. All is good until my AC (Air Conditioning) compressor kicks on. Both my TV and Hotspot will die/reboot. I'm considering a soft start module for the roof AC but I'm also considering a heavy-duty UPS. My only question was is the 20 mil switching good enough. You answered that question. Yeah, both loads (T-mobile cell modem) and my TV might consume just a fraction of needed isolated power so maybe a $100 cheap APC. But that has little room for increasing the load. What to do, what to do. Thanks, man. Cheers from Louisiana.

How many batteries can a 3000 watt jackery take that's what I'd like to know. Could I use it to let it go down to forty percent of battery charge up to 95% because that would probably work better for me but of course I think I would want to charge the batteries more than that never let it to less than 40%. I guess that's two questions ❓

HOBOTECH. Can you please do some RV tests if you get a chance. The reason is RV parks lose electricity all the time. Far more than blackouts. If you have to leave and have slide outs to move back in this is a big plus for emergency backup power. I’m dialing in what product to bring in motorhome. So far I’m cautiously undecided but ready to buy soon. Summer is coming. FYI, yes, I have a generator but there are blackout times in park rules not to use them and many times I have to go/ move during those or don’t want to wake up my fellow campers with noise. People get pissed over noise for various reasons.

I have been watching your videos for over a year now. You really drive into the products you review. I have a Skoolie project I have been working on for the past year and I have it about ready for me to move in it. I am getting one of these Jackery 3000s for it. But I am looking at the price of their 200W solar panels in comparison to the 200W solar panels from Renogy and I can get 3 of those for the price of 1 Jackery panel. Do you know if there would be any difference in using 200W Renogy panels instead of the Jackery panels? Or do you know of other panels that cost less but give the same results that you would recommend?

Jackery uses lithium Ion (outdated, 2000 cycles to 70%) rather than Iithium iron phosphate LifePO4 (current, 3500+ cycles to 80%). Not sure why they keep doing this, aside from maybe they invested heavily in lithium ion manufacturing?

Lighter, I guess. I got a cheapo sogen with roughly the same capabilities as my Anker Powerhouse II, but it's less than half the weight because it doesn't have LiFePO4. About half the size, too! (Also apparently pure sine, I was genuinely surprised!)

@@worldcomicsreview354 OK, But is that a good enough reason to use NMC which is FAR more dangerous than LFP especially if you plan to leave it plugged in all the time to act like a UPS?
