This is my ideal of a "how to" video. The clarity of presentation is excellent: intelligent and observant and to the point. The video couldn't be clearer, and it goes that extra mile to highlight the important little details to watch for along the way. I haven't had mine apart yet to see what's causing the blower noise, but because it developed suddenly I'm suspecting it's debris rather than than wear. And if it's a piece of that damned blend door, at least I'll recognize that and put it on the list for later repair. I remember long ago talking to the young service manager at a motorcycle dealer's shop. He was getting between me and the mechanic, saying that the mechanic's time is worth money. I said, "Of course. That's exactly why I brought the bike here, so I could get his expert analysis of the issue. Please go ahead and bill me for every minute that he and I spent discussing it." Those bad old days are mostly over now, I find. Now it's more typical for tue mechanic even in a large shop to come out and review the work. I really appreciate it. You can't put a price on that expertise. And this video illustrates why.

Thank You for that on my 2014 F-150 Information. Now I have a place to start rather than bring it back to the Dealership!

I have the same problem with my 2014 F150. I priced replacement motors ranging from $100-$180

Thanks for the instructions, Jack ! I had this exact issue with my 2013 F150 today, broken piece exactly like yours. I didn't have a swivel socket, but I was able to use some mini vice grips and angled a 7mm 1/4 socket to get the most difficult bolt screw out by hand with some patience. You saved me a trip to the service center, much appreciated!!!

get the swivel socket, it's a real pain without it.

Thank you so much for the information. I’m actually having two issues. One is what you addressed in this video, noisy climate, blower noise, and 2 I think my resistor plug may be going out. I wiggled it the other day and it came back on so hopefully my issue with the noise will be what you discovered in this truck. Thank you again and God bless.

Bro - what a video. Had my auto start going for a bit before going out today and opened the door to a tornado. “What the f**k?!?!?” Was my first thought, it’s the exact sound in this video. Gonna pull it out tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks again!

Just pulled it down - that exact piece is sitting in almost the same spot. You’re the man. Now if only you could diagnose this low RPM rattle I’m having LOL

I think I may add a coat hanger wire bent to flip the broken door to be able to close it or open it what way is closed so all the cabin air is recirculated ?

Great info video. I have a like-new (sort of) 2011 F-150. The blower makes a chirping noise but the noise seems to stop after 10 or 15 minutes running. Maybe bearing or object in fan. But why does it diminish? Will have to watch again and try to remove the blower.😊

You do not need to take the dash apart. It can be done with it all together

Also, I watched another video where a guy took the pocket of the Truck out for more room. I see you did not do that. I however, I’m a big guy and need all the room I can get. Thanks again.

Just had this exact issue. Bought a whole new blower motor because mine was making so much noise, took it out and that exact piece was over inside.
@jackhfletcher5 ай бұрын
It’s a common issue. The official fix is to pull the dash to replace that recirculation door, but I recently saw a video on KZbin where someone was able to replace it without pulling the dash. It might be worth looking into that if you’re wanting to fix it!

@@jackhfletcher you know, I only use max AC and I took that piece out and put the blower motor back in (sending the new one back) and it blows good and cold enough in this 90° Mississippi weather so that’s good enough for me.
