I feel like this year is more heartbreaking than last year. I thought Shadow was the strong one last year and this year Jackie is. Its been beautiful watching how they take care of each other.

On April 12th 2024 Jackie and Shadow mated again on film via the Cam #2 camera. Wow, that is great that they are giving it a GO AGAIN ! Watch the Cam #2 taken on 4/12, they are roosting in their special tree that has no green foliage. I was not shocked - because another eagle pair did the same thing when thier eggs were not viable for 2 months !!

Hard to watch 😢 But I wanted to see. Kinda wish I had their ability to deal with this loss, For me its heartwrenching and hurts. They don't have the emotions that we do. In that Respect they're Lucky. I do believe Jackie was saying Goodbye as she stopped and looked at them and then buried them. Thank you Baiba for all your Wonderful videos this year and your input!

I learn over the years watching Eagles Nest to respect Them. They know what to do when the eggs don't hatch and when their Eaglets died. So 😢 for Jackie and Shadow. But at least they can move on. Prayers for Them. They work so hard this season, but I ❤them. Tks for sharing

I can not stop crying watching this video. There are three eaglets on Catalina Island (West End Bald Eagle Cam). They hatched at the same time when these three eggs were supposed to hatch. All three eaglets are big now, even started developing feathers. These two nests are so close to each other and have two totally different stories.

I believe the sight and smell of the broken egg triggered Jackie to cover the eggs. I'm really surprised ravens didn't take advantage of J&S's long absence from the nest yesterday afternoon.
