@rahulsar20305 жыл бұрын
Federal Bureau of Investigation Mostly it was Power Level. If u notice carefully, LSS kale(controlled) and SS2 califra were certainly beating Goku SS2 until he went SSG and overpowered them. So basically Goku had to be of exact power level as those 2 so that he can keep up with them, even using transformation like SS he can increase his Speed, strength and endurance as well. So basically higher PL means u are more better. This was there in Z as well. Freeza, cell and kid buu had higher PL than Goku hence he had so much difficulty in defeating them. So that's why SS was invented becoz in Z, everything was on PL and speed. But don't get confused with ASS since it had a increase in PL but decrease in speed and mobility. So if u see DB had the same PL theory as well when piccolo was introduced.

I think he means that this was just purely for proving one was great at MArtial arts and on a fairly tame level since it was earlier in the Dragonball Series. "Normal" people actually could waltz into a tournament and give Goku, Krillin, Roshi, etc. a run for their money. The fights were tense because usually you wouldn't know who would win when people like Tien showed up. The Tournament of Power has way too much at stake to just enjoy the fight for the fight. Its not simply a spectacle, but rather an all-out war to keep your own universe safe. Of course we all knew that 7 would win and that everything would go back to being just Peachy afterwards. It's much more predictable. And more about overpowered blasts being the norm rather than something special like the Kamehameha was back in Dragonball.

I don’t know, how many tournaments have you won? I don’t know, how many planets have you blown up. None, how many Goku’s have you beaten?! Can I fight now?

Dragonball is so underrated compared to Z. This is all thanks to the Western audience of course😅.

As a kid I was one of few who liked the OG Dragonball more than Z.

I agree but I like z and dragonball equally. Z introduced stronger enemies, gohan's ssj2 transformation and future trunks ssj transformation. Man those were sad amd hit alot harder than their dads. But I wish it still had the dragonball essence and tien, piccolo, yamcha and krillin can come back to the fights instead of just hanging in the background. Same goes for gohan and trunks. Even goten. They were wasted and the spot light is always on vegeta and goku and that can be a problem.

It’s not really out fault. Dragon Ball had a few attempts first here in the US but because of the violent nature of the show and it’s sexual innuendo, it was heavily edited and place in crappy early morning time slots so it never took off and never went past the Emperor Pilaf saga at first. The same would hold true for Dragon Ball Z’s first run as well. It wasn’t until DBZ went to cable on Cartoon Network’s Toonami when it would finally take off. After the success of DBZ, then they went back to finish original DB. So we were always exposed way more to Z then original DB. Not by choice but how it turned out.
