Jackie Hill Perry brought me to this episode, but come on Lisa Harper. Women are incredibly enlightened creatures and so much more emotionally in tune with expressing to each other, that I like to listen to their conversations for that “Eve perspective,” to what can sometimes be my “Adam oversight.” Very inspiring convo.

I find myself being very unloving, unremoseful just the absolute worse feelings towards him because the spirit he has always attacks me. For me is getting rid of Hallmark romance Christmas videos, I was using it to hide and escape, but it also putting my heart as a christian young woman in places where it shouldn't be. I stopped. God doesn't want me to hide, or escape. I also stopped listening to secular music and not having a desire for the world. I want more of Christ and as a virgin I want to be the woman of god that he's called me to be.

God being your crutch? Scripture says Almighty God is our ROCK, FORTRESS, FOUNDATION, COUNSELOR, A VERY PRESENT HELP IN TIMES OF TROUBLE, OUR HEALER, DELIVERER, PEACE, JOY, STRENGTH, WAY MAKER, PROVIDER, OUR SANCTIFIER, JUSTIFIER, DEFENDER, JUDGE, FATHER, FRIEND......and I could go on & on! The Lord God Almighty is to never be disrespected & called a "crutch" for humanity.

the random segues into a monologue, i find, are very distracting from the purpose of this video. there are instances where your guest, in this case Jackie Hill, is not quite finished with the message they're trying to convey, and then you go into this whole different topic with the monologue(s). like, i came to this video because i wanted to hear what Jackie has to say. not an open discussion video that goes in 10 different directions.

First, I want to say I love you all and appreciate your representation of Black women. However, addressing concerns regarding discipleship and cultural relevance is essential when addressing a Christian ministry about why people may not attend church after the pandemic. As a Black woman, the lack of culturally relevant pedagogy can make finding a church that resonates with my experiences challenging, especially finding discipleship. It's crucial to advocate for dialogues and teachings that connect with diverse backgrounds, using what I aptly describe as the "greens and cornbread" of teaching. Many Black folks do not feel comfortable in white churches, as it seems you all have. Furthermore, in discussions about marriages, it's essential to highlight the experiences of godly women married to men who may not be actively pursuing their faith. This can be especially relevant for Black women with Black husbands navigating unique societal pressures. 80% of Black homes are without a Dad, and many of the women have children with multiple fathers; this content many times limits the representation and support for Black men and Black women, making it difficult for us to utilize the content for guidance, especially in urban environments. Still, we desperately need the Gospel they way, you all teach the Gospel, just with Black narrative content. While there may be some representation of Black women in Women in Faith, they do not represent the narrative of the Black experience; it's crucial to address the fact that this representation may not fully capture the diverse experiences and challenges most Black women face, who are in need much help. Honestly, I have attempted to use your content to help clients and myself, but the content has not been able to help most Black women needing direction for a lack of cultural relevance. This is a platform aimed towards middle-class cross-racial relationships. I think it may be helpful if it were allowed to be more inclusive and culturally sensitive to better support individuals from diverse backgrounds who have not had the privilege of gaining these cross-racial relationships and provided with the necessary resources and guidance to address the barriers and needs of the majority in Black communities if you're going to provide Black women as host, let us help the communities in which they represent. You have the form of cultural relevance, but without the narrative, I appreciate the Black women with dreads and braids (they're beautiful), However, we are desperate for language, norms, and conversations with a Gospel depth but a culturally relevant narrative; most Blacks do not live or have have had the privilege of most of these Black women, who have gained their story through cross-racial churches, most who seem not to attend Black churches ( I am making an assumption). I am a social worker and own a business, and I, too, would be considered to have a middle-class lens. Still, if I can't relate to your content for discipleship from a Black perspective, it is without impact for me, and many Black communities who need this Gospel. And yes, I first identify as a Believer. Then, as a Black woman, I understand intersectionality, but because it does not have relatability, with the narrative of most of us, as Black women in these streets, it is hard to apply in my life. I am thirsty, not critical. Have a great one!

CHERRY PICK: If someone cherry-picks things, they choose the best ones from a group of them, often in a way that other people consider unfair. In other words a cherry picker is someone who ONLY select the things that best fit their PERSONAL needs. Even though they have a right to do so, it is considered unfair. Below are TWO Old Testament passage of verses that fall under the LAW of God the Father and NOT under the GRACE of Christ . Which passage of Old Testament verses has your Pastor "Cherry Picked" to share with his congregation regularly? 📖 Malachi 3:10 📖 Bring the whole TITHE into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much BLESSINGS that there will not be room enough to store it. OR 📖 Ezekiel 3: 17-19 📖 17) "Son of man, I (Christ) have made you a (pastor) watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them WARNINGS from Me. 18) When I (Christ) say to a wicked person, ‘You WILL surely die,’ and you do not warn them or speak out to DISSUADE them from their EVIL ways in order to SAVE their life, that wicked person WILL die for their SIN, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 19) But if you do warn the wicked person and they DO NOT turn from their wickedness or from their evil ways, they will die for their sin; but you WILL have saved yourself. Time is running out for YOU to embrace the TRUTH! 🕊🕊🕊❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🕊❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
