Sumo makes a helper spring too on my cross trail 20 CB my son put the sumo yellow ones on and helper spring too that kept the yellow spring, a half inch to an inch away from hitting so I suppose when I hit a bump it hits like it supposed to and a sway bar helps

Wouldn’t a something like a Hellwig helper spring be a better solution instead of riding around on a giant bump stop?

Possibly, but a sumo spring is not a giant bump stop. It's a progressive rate helper spring.

Did the install raise the back end slightly when parked? I have converted mine and I am no just barely dragging my trailer hits at the bottom of the driveway. So hoping the addition of the yellow springs would provide a secondary feature of slightly raising the back end.

Yes it raised it quite a bit

I dont have a super heavy build as there is no water system but the slope of my driveway with the extra length added by the hitch causes me to just barely scrape as I am at the bottom of the driveway. I figure if I get any lift at the back of the vehicle I will be able to stop dragging the hitch on the asphalt.

Would you recommend using both spacers for a build with almost nothing inside it? Maybe added 500lbs

No. I dont think you should ever use both according to the manufacturer. It's ok if they don't touch while empty. That just means you don't have enough weight to even need them. Better shocks like the ones I used in this video and a rear sway bar would probably do what you need
