I got into a fight in school with one of my tormenters. A teacher saw the whole thing and walked away, knowing this was the first time I stood up for myself. I guess he figured out that I needed to settle this myself. The bully would never bother me again; neither did his toadys.

Truth. I found out in high school that the two football players who were always bulling me were covering for the fact that they wanted to hook up. (I was told that at my HS reunion by a girl we all knew. She had no reason to make it up.) One of whom started a rumor that I keyed his car. When I went to his house to talk to him about it, he came to the door in his boxers and got fully bricked while we were talking. Before we were done he was wet too. I knew exactly what it was too.

One of my favorite short films! Story is so relatable and comedic at the same time, plus the acting is great. Jack's character is one so many who are closeted can identify with and Adam Fleming (I loved him in "Dare") was awesome as the imaginary figure who helps him be more confident and proud of himself. I totally recommend this one and more like it definitely should be produced.

You can't control how people will react to you being gay. But what you can control is how you fight for yourself. He stood his ground and fought for his gayness and his right to beat off to those hot magazines. Good for him!

You have a point, but he didn't get beaten up badly. Some gay kids might be near death or killed if their bullies come to the fight with a knife or gun. But in this case it seems that it was a one on one battle (we see the bully's lackeys standing back) with fists. Jack gets injured but he probably held his own. Then again, giving in to the bullies and feeling you are going to go through your whole life being miserable can lead to suicide. Jack now believes in himself. He has something to be proud of, not of being gay, but of being Jack. That will stand him in good stead the rest of his life. There are a number of what ifs that are not accounted for, like what he's going to tell his parents about how he got into a fight. However, it was a short film and focused on the relationship of the boys (and the porn star).
