Pac and Nas squashed things while Pac was in NY, right before he got killed in Vegas. Pac had every intention of removing those Nas disses from those songs, but he just didn't live long enough to do so. Pac was bumping Nas in the car all the way to Vegas. I am betting Nas would have been on Pacs' One Nation album had he lived.

I know I’m late to this response. But lots of us old hip hop heads found it ridiculous that jay-z thought he was the best rapper even though everything he’s ever done was a basic carbon copy of someone else. And when nas eithered him. We all clapped. Love jay as a business man. That’s not just talent but strategy and ambition but when it comes to hip hop, he will objectively near the best.

Many of this diss is based on Jay-z's Blueprint album. Jay-Z disses girls of different races on a track named, "Girl, Girls Girls" He disses Nas on "The Takeover" where he called Nas trash and garbage and brags about his riches and Biggie and so on. Those are the things Nas is referring to in this diss track. "Eminem murdered you on your own shit" reference to "Renegade" (which you've reacted to already; and truly Em murders Jay on that track). The Em murdering Jay-Z on his own song, brought about people paying attention to who out-raps who on a feature. The Nas diss on The Takeover brought Nas out of hibernation and he had to respond to Jay Z. Jay-Z didn't respond to this song but he responded to Nas' other disses directed to him on the Illmatic album, songs like "Got Yourself a Gun"
