The time invested in painting the tartan on the Jacobites was well worth it. Those look amazing.

Awesome work John. Enjoyed the insight on the Highway man’s cloak. He turned our a treat.

Thanks Alby. I was pleased with how that coat turned out too, almost like moonlight on his shoulders as he steps out of the shadows :-)

Just wonderful minis you've done. Tartan scares me to death. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks so much Tim. Yes, I approach tartan with some trepidation too. Thankfully I was able to make something up for these rather than copy a real clan design.

The golem in the trench coat looks like DeNiro’s Frankenstein monster from his movie

It could be that's where the sculptor took their inspiration.

The people want to see more! Haha. Great work as always mate, I really love the kilts ... I just hope you didn't have to paint what is under them!
Love the Highlanders. Just ordered a set as a result but I'm not sure how well they will fit in with my other figures. I'll probably use them as leaders or special characters. In case others do the same they are actually described as Clansmen by Black Scorpion. They do two sets of Highlanders but they are definitely fantasy rather than historical.

Thanks Ralph. They seem a bit on the larger side, but as you say, would make decent character or leader types. All the best, John.

They appear to be based on the tv series Outlander. The two on the right are pretty close for the characters Jamie and Dougal. I think the second one might be based on Murtagh. The boots are a give away plus the bonnets are too floppy. Proper bonnets have a stiffness to them that doesn't flop, they stick out more like saucers. The ones for the 45 rebellion were much smaller, more like a beret. The bigger ones are better for the earlier risings like 1715.

@@damionkeeling3103 That's a coincidence - I'm just watching that series at the moment and I see what you mean. I'll have to pay closer attention to the colours to get some inspiration for painting

Again top quality John. The Goloms are not my personal cup of tea, but well painted. The highlanders must have taken some time to do the tartan. The color combinations make them as individual figures very interesting. I really like the Dick Turpin figure with the dark coat. Gr Frank
