Tbh cataract surgeries have been performed even hundreds of years ago oftentimes by barbers with good scissor skills Barber surgeons are the reason barbershops have red and white spiral things outside them- the red used to mean they offered surgery This was in the Middle Ages and it was not uncommon for cataracts to be cured by barbers By the 2000s they would have had numbing gel and whatnot so the likelihood is it wasn’t too bad!

Dude your ok you don’t want to know what I had at my dentist if you do read further I had a tooth pushing my ether tooth and a tooth coming in from the bottom and the tooth was hurting a lot. When It was time I had a shot in the back of my mouth then the gum. As soon as they used the screwdriver my tooth crumbled in my mouth. Because it was rotten Like if you feel my pain.

Oh gods...the dental one reminded me of last year getting three of my wisdom teeth removed, the numbing gel works fast but when that needle hits the nerve....omg, the pain is like nothing you'd expect. Then hearing the grinding, cracking of the teeth being broken out of the jaw bones.... *shudder* Then every tastes like blood for like the next few days.....

LittleCreepyRed for me, the needle didn't hit a nerve when I went in, but it was really close to a main nerve. the ENTIRE left side of my face was completely numb, even my blinking was a bit off, my right eye opened and shut faster than my left. everyone thought it was fuckin hilarious, including myself...... that damn tingling/cold feeling when it wears off though.... gah I hate that

The numbing gel doesn't help a massive amount, by the way. It does a bit, but it's not the most effective thing.
