Thatcher isn't dead, but there is an alternate of him, stalking him. Thatcher feels immeasurable guilt because he knowingly abandoned Weaver in a house where an alternate was, so he's probably just holed himself up at home, drowning in guilt. Thatcher called for backup when he fled. Looks like the alternate that is copying him called it off, truly leaving Weaver to die. The alternates were originally coming in through the TVs, so that's why Dave still having one is a big deal. 6 is an alternate Adam released into the world as a child; 6 on the TV was called Stanley, who told children how to "imagine friends" into reality. Adam was abducted by the alternate and, when Adam's mother found he was gone, she hung herself.

You are missing some things- The Adam we know is an alternate who replaced the real Adam. He was put there by the intruder (the Stanley guy/ hood guy/6) but Adam doesnt remember he is an alternate. Being an alternat is why he says bad things to Evelyn/ is oddly emotionless about Jonah/ doesnt have friends / is so interested in following them Thatcher and Dave hadnt been killed yet because they were actually helping the alternates by the video editing stuff. What i find super cool is that Dave's friend / Gabriel was actually IN CHURCHES disseminating that type of retoric and we didnt even know he was actually working so closely in his plan.

A clue-in for Jack: Adam is the protagonist of Mandela Catalogue Vol. 2. He was the one who went into basement for the "cat alternate". He is the one who's mother did "suici*e" at the sight of her lost infant. He let the "friend" from the TV in. He was the one who saw the intruder in his home. Thatcher is the protagonist of Mandela Catalogue Vol. 333. He was the one who got-got by the CGI alternate. Presumed dead by police because their alternate was found.

It seems like a lot, but considering his average video gets 1M+ or sometimes more, this one isn't doing that well. I've seen videos he's posted within the hour get more views. If he wanted a lot of views, he would probably play a recent release popular game. Also, it's understandable for him not to remember the lore. He has ADHD, and I know from personal experience it causes memory issues. Especially in the event of, like he said, long gaps between something. When I go back to watch something, I have to start from the beginning because I forget what happened. Plus, he's really busy and it's that hectic holiday season. For me, the best part was Jonah Marshall's memorial video, where he's seen speaking with his alternate (which he thought were voices in his head) next to the car where he died. The alternate slowly morphing into him (in Vol. 333 we learned that they can do that, instead of killing the person and then transforming into them), repeating the same phrases he said a while earlier, and Jonah going "GET OUT OF MY HEAD". Top notch content, top notch horror. Also, fuck that closet creep.

I love the little lore details that get sprinkled throughout the series. Alternates being unable to respond accurately to emotional stimuli is one of the ways to spot one if the physical characteristics don't give it away, and Adam is described as having just that issue in this episode.

I love how the best combat with alternates is just don't be afraid, which for those who have read or know the Bible, angels always began with "Be not afraid" it so amazing how Alex inputs these amazing things, and that's exactly what Thatcher does in the closet scene, he is still, non-reactive, quiet, and most important not afraid of the closet alternate.
@NovumDoesObservation

That is an excellent detail that I feel is often missed. The alternates aren't JUST killing people; They are making people kill themselves. He knows they want to toy with him, not just kill him, so he just endures their presence like an extremely creepy housemate.

It also goes back to the original episode with Jonah and Adam. Adam walks into the room with the alternate and, although he encounters it, he escapes alive and unharmed as he was unafraid and sought it out. Jonah, who feared for his life, ran, but didn’t anticipate that the alternate would still be able to attack him because of the technology he had with him, and he ended up dying.

30:42 OHHHHH THAT CHANGES A LOT OKAY For anyone who didn't catch exactly what was happening, that was Adam saying (I'm on mobile so I can't replay and type, so forgive me for not being 100% accurate): "I never said it was stupid! I didn't say that! This computer, it's messing with my words!" Earlier, we saw what message Adam is referring to. Adam calls this entire thing about making a video to honor Jonah "stupid" over online chat with Eveline. In fact, Adam has been upsettingly uncaring about the entire situation with Jonah. Apparently Jonah was his best friend (or, well, Adam was Jonah's best friend), and Adam seems to just not care at all that Jonah died. In fact, it's implied that Adam and Jonah were out getting footage when something happened, and Adam just... made his way back to the car and left without Jonah or getting help. So Adam didn't just lose his friend, he was there when it happened, but seemingly doesn't care _at all_ and is annoyed that Eveline is upset and making him at least put something together to tell their viewers he's gone. But then we get this. Adam is very upset, and he's screaming at his computer, _"I never said it was stupid, stop messing with my words!"_ Adam _never said it was stupid,_ and he's very upset about that specific part of the distortion. This means Adam _doesn't think making a video for Jonah is stupid._ Also, not only is whatever is in Jonah's computer sending its own messages to those Jonah's trying to talk to, we can hear it _audibly_ mimicking Jonah's voice, and beginning to mix and match his words into different orders. We know some types of anomalies can mimic people in different ways, be it in voice or appearance (they're not always perfect, ie the very distorted form of Thatcher we saw). We also know anomalies can traverse through things like screens and mirrors. It seems an anomaly is inhabiting Adam's computer, and is in the process of learning to mimic him. But this is _huge,_ because it means that we don't know what was actually Adam or not. The voice we hear is Adam very obviously caring about this whole thing with Jonah, and whatever entity that's fucking with him changing the information other people receive. And because it's voice mimicking, that means even the phone call with Eveline where Adam was cruel and uncaring could possibly have been the result of the entity mimicking and distorting Adam's words, and not what Adam was actually saying. Hell, even Adam deleting Jonah's contact might not have actually been Adam's choice. A lot of the video up to this point is characterizing Adam as a _massive_ piece of shit. But these few seconds right here tell you that we don't actually know _anything_ about Adam, because everything we have seen and heard might not have even _been_ Adam at all. I just love when so much story telling is done without outright saying so. Adam was never described as uncaring, but his actions stick out as shockingly cold, and frequent enough for the viewer to begin to characterize him, to expect a certain level of disgusting apathy, which is _very_ strong characterization. And then, in a few seconds, without ever saying it outright, it tells us we have no fucking clue what's real in regards to Adam, that our very strong foundation of who Adam is is build on quicksand, that _nothing_ we think we know, we can claim to know. Which also sets up that subconscious alarm, and sets a precedent for the _entire thing_ - again, in mere seconds of audio - that the things we see can be lies without us knowing. If Adam's apathy wasn't even real, how do we know anything else we've seen is the full picture? How do we _actually know_ anything about what's happening? Before that audio, you'd say Adam thought the video project was stupid. But we didn't _know_ that. It wasn't _truth._ Which leaves you with the only thing you _can_ know for certain: _something is very, very wrong, and people are dying because of it._ This has been such a huge theme in the Mandela Catalogue, and it's done _so fucking beautifully._ You fear what you don't know, and the Mandela Catalogue has mastered making sure that all you _can_ know is that nothing, nowhere, and no-one is safe from a danger beyond comprehension. All you can know is _fear._ Edit* They're alternates, not anomalies. Whoops!

my theory about Adam, is that he is indeed an alternate, and the intruder aka Stanley replaced the original Adam as a child in the intruder alert video. the intruder in this volume says "do you remember my touch? (talking to the fake Adam) I cradled him in my arms my sweet boy (referring now to the original Adam) I took him away" this could mean that the intruder had stolen the original Adam through through the tv and killed him, (the "do you remember my touch" part could be referring to him snapping his neck or something), made an alternate of him and replaced the original. this is why he doesn't really know he's an alternate as he was raised and grew up as if he was a normal human, but would also explain why he seems so obsessed with the alternates and is not frightened but intrigued by them. this may also explain why he did not respond to any of the stress assessment videos. also if the report said that him not responding to the video could be due to a recent phenomenon in young children, that could mean that more and more people could be similar to Adam: alternates that don't know they are alternates. Adam could also be a sleeper alternate of some sorts, acting as a normal human but will be "awoken" in a sense to then fulfill his purpose as some important alternate or "the Mandela prophet" as the end of the video referred to him as. this could be the reason why phrases similar to something like "wake up" or "wake up Adam" or "open you eyes" are echoed through the series. i got my main theory idea from wendigoon so shoutout to him :)

My personal theory is that he might be turning into a new kind of alternate. The first alternate to start out completely human and slowly corrupt and control a host body. These things have a reason to abduct people and as they slowly wise up to the alternates games they will have to change it up to continue to grab more people.

Jack being funny is awesome, but something he missed because of the edge humor is that the pile of files in 18:22 are ALL missing person reports. Every last one of them is a missing person, and the numbers he didn’t recognize are Mandela’s population (which is dropping by the thousands). Alex Kister’s work is awesome, and I would love to have seen Jacks reaction to that realization 😎

So Adam and Jonah were from Mandela 2(I believe). Jonah left Adam at the house and was killed by an alternate on the side of the road. This claims that Adam walked until he found the car, left Jonah's body on the side of the road, drove home, and COMPLETELY fucking phoned it in for Jonah's death and memorial. Jonah, his best friend. I suggest watching Wendigoon's stuff on these, I think he's pretty much got it down pat. Especially since Mandela 4 drops so much info and lore and connections. Also Thatcher's cop partner, Weaver, died in the Mandela 3. Then the alternate turned into an exact copy of Thatcher in front of him and it fucked him up

Exactly what I was thinking, however I think an alternate is impersonating Adam mainly due to the computer scene where we can see him removing Jonah’s contact, it would make sense to do that if you felt no remorse for Jonah, it also already makes sense that the same alternate killed them both because in Jonah’s death scene the alternate talks about him leaving Adam to die.

Such a genius decision to make Adam out to be careless about Jonah's death, to both pin us and Sarah against him, when in reality what was being sent to her wasn't from him at all. God this series is so good at manipulating the audience. Edit: Omg and I just realized, the intro literally sets this up! The Man, Adam, staring down at the woman, Eve. Sarah's scared and disturbed by how Adam reacts to Jonah's death, but just like how Adam meets the devil in the intro, it's because the devil/alternates are messing with what Adam's saying!

But if you look back at the video called " metaphysical awareness disorder " (M.A.D), You will know that there's a small percentage that survives it and Thatcher is one of them, so now we have alternate Thatcher and real Thatcher coexisting because he didn't get affected by M.A.D and still alive.

He really didn’t, the AI isn’t copying anything and putting public images into its “brain” isn’t stealing shit. The images are PUBLIC. Once an artist makes them available people can do whatever they want with it so long as it doesn’t break copyright. And the AI isn’t storing those images, it’s taking the data assigned to them and making new ones based off that. It’s also a very small minority that’s using this tech for personal profit that’s causing all people who use to get a bad rep.

I've already seen plenty of examples of people feeding other people's copyrighted art into AI machines to make very similar images based on that. As silly as it may sound hearing him say that stuff, I believe Thatcher truly believes in what he’s saying. He left his partner, Ruth, to die, survived the events at the end of Volume 3 by shooting at the alternate, helplessly watched the population of his town basically crumble to oblivion over the course of years, and is basically being tormented by nightmares and ideas of a second, distorted, and malevolent version of him still being out there. He’s been in hiding and isolated for years at this point, alone with his thoughts and guilt, trying his best to fight a war he can’t win. So even if what he’s saying sounds like a “my chemical romance” stan, its definitely far from unjustifiable.

As soon as Adam started talking I thought how he sounded like Sykkuno. Glad to know I wasn't alone.

Face studio 2 seems like a great idea for a interactive game like project people could use , to kind of like themselves get immersed in the Mandela cataloge universe even more like some previous games/playable stuff did before-

I just want to say, you’re my role model, Jack. I never commented on your videos but for the last five years, I’ve been watching almost every one of your videos, every day. You’ve made such a positive impact on my life, you’ve taught me to always stay calm, have fun, and never let my anger get to me. I thank you. You’re the best content creator anyone could ask for ^^

Alex Kister has always made a lot of unique stuff, and vol 4 of the Mandela Catalogue series is absolutely incredibly well made, especially with the live action segments, the visuals, and of course the spookiness. Also, congratulations for raising 10 Million for your Thankmas Charity event Jack

A channel named Wendigoon gives a great breakdown of the whole Mandela series and even has interviews with Alex. I *HIGHLY* recommend giving him a watch to get a better understanding and, if you're like me, a better appreciation for the story in this series.

Jack having some kind of role in Mandela Catalogue would be cool af, considering he already showed he got good acting and voice acting skills. Edit: 💀

Man doesn't even pick up 1/5th of the story. Not even that Adam is a fckn alternate, which was made incredibly obvious. Him being in their would genuinely screw up the feel of the entire series.

I grew up in the 2000s and VHS was still standard. I grew up using tape recorders and VHS all the same. Lots more people know how to use them than you might expect.
