the last one, even though he was so scary, he was literaly just a ghost trying to be as friendly as his mentally troubled state allowed him to. He didnt even chasse her or blame her. And most of all, he didnt intentionally scare her. He was just there. It was creepy as well as kinda wholesome.
@realafah Жыл бұрын
I agree. And it doesn't look like that bus stop is in a heavy traffic area or near buildings, so I imagine not a lot of people go there. He's always there, all by himself. He's desperate for someone to talk to. And you can tell he's not a bad person because, yeah he's can be forward about wanting to talk to her, but he's not making sexual calls at her or calling her names because he things she thinks too high of herself for him. He's just talking about what's been goin on with him and just trying to start a conversation. And when he reveal himself as dead, it didn't come off as him trying to scare her. It's just what happened and he lets her know that it's all alright. She's alright because she's safe, and he's alright because there's nothing she can do and has been there for a long time to be use to it. It's such a short video, but it delivers a lot through the acting and writing. I love it

@@pinkkkkkkkkk that wasn't really a hit on more than telling a rude joke to himself, atleast that's how I see it. His ghost is at the cycle where he's fresh drunk and high on pills so I can let it slip as not thinking about what he's saying. The reason I don't take it even more so that he's not trying to hit on her is that he didn't really do much of that afterwards. Once he switches sides of the street, he's back to being a normal friendly dude.
@realafah Жыл бұрын

My guess is that people without brains in horror pictures like these are often a reflection of society. Some of them have even lived in and worked from a big white house in our nation's capital, and we can't do anything about it for a period of four to eight years.

Anyways, whenever I'm alone in the house and hear something in the night, I always forget about it and go downstairs without anything at all, when I could go downstairs with something that could scare someone in the dark or be used for some good whacking if it comes to worst. Stupidity is a really common thing when it comes to possibly dangerous situations.

There’s something about brightly lit horror stories that are just infinitely more terrifying, and honestly, good for those who can terrify people while it’s bright
@liamhamilton9086 Жыл бұрын
I believe one reason as to why it is more terrifying is that it operates on the norms of negative space horror in that it completely subverts our expectations. Light is often associated with the thought of safety and warm. For example you would normally feel safe sitting by a campfire in the woods. When it’s light we believe we will be safe and well. Considering the majority of horror operates on a set norms people often will adopt them as to what to expect when in a scenario that is unnerving, unsettling, or even terrifying. Whether it is in real life or fiction we’ll normally adopt a degree of caution and likely get unnerved when we enter a dark place since darkness has been so associated with horror. Since we have associated norms with both the light and the dark, day and night, we wouldn’t necessarily be used to when our expectations based off of our associated norms are subverted and twisted in a way which we are not used to them. That is why whenever there is a scenario where it is day or in a brightly lit setting that something creepy happens that it likely feels more terrifying and or unnerving depending on the person. It’s incredible as you say for horror stories that maintain brightly lit settings as they are really effective in producing that sense of horror. In a way it also operates on a psychological level again because it completely 180s our expectations. We know now that the life isn’t safe in that scenario and yet it still could be while also not being. Again another reason why it is very much a negative space horror since it will operate on our expectations and then either confirm for us or deny for us what we are expecting. Sometimes it can be a mixture of both.

That "Smiling Man" one got to me, especially in the first half. Even though he wasn't really doing anything threatening to start with, something about people behaving erratically for no reason makes me unreasonably freaked out. Like, you don't know what's going on in that dude's world or what kind of drugs he's on. At least if they're blatantly being creepy you know what they're trying to do; all logic has left that guy, for all you know he thinks you're some kind of monster and tries to kill you and eat your face or some shit.

@@hotbread1004 Dude is walking home at 2am because nighttime walks to the store are a habit of his. During the night, he notices a man slow waltzing at him, looking up at the sky, with a painfully wide grin on his face. Upon noticing him, broski’s like “yeah nah” and walks across the street, turns his back (assuming the guy is drunk or smth) and continues his walk. When he turns back, the smiling man is now perfectly still, looking like hes attempted to cross the street directly to him, still smiling horribly at the sky. He keeps walking, watching him as he is perfectly still until he feels comfortable enough to look away and check out the path ahead. Within the maybe 5-10 seconds he took to glance away from the smiling man then look back, he was now across the road, hunched down, which meant he had to have moved quickly. After staring at the smiling man in shock, he slowly gets up, and starts cartoonishly tip toeing towards him, very exaggerated movements (what jack called t-rex), but moving at a steady pace. Frozen in fear, he watches the smiling man grow near until he stops. The dude whimpers a “What”, and keeps watching him, the smiling man just stands there, smiling at the sky. After a tense period of time, the smiling man turns around and starts dancing away again. He watched until he had left his sight and assumed he was safe. Until he noticed him coming back, growing bigger, no longer dancing, but sprinting full speed at him. Dude runs away and gets home safe in the actual creepypasta and claims that since then (6mths ago) he hasn’t seen anything as utterly horrifying as that.

I loved the last two. The acting going on with the smiling man was very Jim Carrey like, kind of crazy, but in a way that is just really well done and over the top in a good way. The last one had that insane twist to it, really well done as well. You know, it started out as just some creeper striking up really odd conversation and I was thinking to myself "lady, you better have the police on speed dial, things are looking like they might get ugly" and then it turned out like that. As for placing the last one, I kind of got the sense that it was somewhere in the UK with their accents, but I am not confident enough in placing each of the accents found in the UK to try and make a guess as to where they were supposed to be from or where the actors are from.
