Here's the thing: usually the ones Jack picks tend to be a combination of clever jokes and well made spooky submissions, while his honorable mentions are usually references he didn't get, really good drawing/Photoshop that he wanted to recognize, and the very scariest submissions. Honestly, I feel like YIAY episodes like this one could be better if it wasn't blind. I know it's a ton of work picking out the submissions, and it's OK if this is still blind next year, but I feel the past years' spook me up episodes went with Jack's own narrative that he wanted, not the Creative Council's, and I feel the difference is visible. Still a great video, but that's just my two cents on it.

Now he has a council that compiles it all for him that allows him to see all the responses for the first time on camera. It makes less work for him and he has to come up with jokes and reactions on the spot. He has said in other videos that his creative energy was running out but once he adopted this blind format, he is more enjoying making videos again.
