Autopilot is useful if you don’t connect joystick or game controller for any reason. Boeing 747 can do nice acrobatics with the autopilot, even little children can handle it, and they will be amazed. The plane is safe, doesn’t try to crash, if kids miss their moves, the plane may not crash.

At around 8:33, why does the vertical pink line of the FD only shift very slightly left of center, even when heading is drastically off in terms of angle? The pink vertical line does not even tell you how much to roll the aircraft, right?
@JacksFSVideos6 жыл бұрын
Actually it does move left and right, just much slower than the horizontal line. At 8:08 it's over to the left, if you keep watching to 9:38, it's more centre-right, and even before I made that right turn, it was centre. If you keep the central dot on the cross-hairs of both lines that will determine your rate or turn as well
@gluino6 жыл бұрын
If you kept central dot on the both lines beginning at around 8:33, wouldn't it take ages before the plane's heading reaches the HDG bug?
@JacksFSVideos6 жыл бұрын
No because the nose also moving up assists in turning the aircraft much faster
@gluino6 жыл бұрын
But the pink lines do not indicate roll angle. When the vertical pink line is so close to center, it would be easy to center on them using only yaw+pitch.
@JacksFSVideos6 жыл бұрын
No not angle, but it does indicate a turn, the bank angle always has the same maximum of usually 30 degrees. And a pilot simply knows not use the rudder on the air except in emergencies and some crosswind landings

btw, is there a programme incorporated which takes into account the curvature of the earth?. Many says that the gravity does this job for the airplane. I don't think so.
@JacksFSVideos8 жыл бұрын
I'm not really sure on what kind of program you're referring to or what you'd use it for. If there is such a thing, I'm not aware of it.
@t.marius15648 жыл бұрын
Ok. I will give you an example: An airplane which takes off from a runway in South Africa , southern Hemisphere ( Cape Town) with final destination in Paris ( France), Northern Hemisphere.. In this particular case the airplane on its entire journey has to adjust continuously and follow the curvature of the earth , otherwise it will go straight into space. That's why i said to you that many are convinced the gravity does this job and here's why the airplane has no programs incorporated to address this matter.
@JacksFSVideos8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the example. However, as I said, I'm afraid I'm not aware of any program.
@t.marius15648 жыл бұрын
if there is no such a program , then we can draw three conclusions: 1. We are not aware of any program . 2. The gravity does this job for airplane. 3. and most shocking :)..the earth is not a ball , sphere. We must find out which of these 3 conclusions is right.
@JacksFSVideos8 жыл бұрын
As I mentioned in my first comment, I'm simply not aware of any such program. However, having researched it, there is no need for this program anyway - www.askcaptainlim.com/flying-the-plane-flying-90/1301-does-a-jet-aircraft-need-to-constantly-adjust-nose-down-to-follow-the-curvature-of-the-earth.html.

hey jack, hope you are doing well. Wanted to know something, in the b737, to keep the ground speed more than 400knots, i have to set my airspeed at more than 380knts. And due to that my fuel gets burned more. I do that just because in real life, all the flights have the ground speed of more than 400 knots, but their airspeed is below 300knots. Even yours is below 300knots and gs is above 400 knots. What should I do? should i do any changes in weather? PS:- I set my weather as fair weather.

I assume you're referring to the arrow in the Navigation Display. If you're using ATC, they will tell you what heading to fly at. Simply type this into the autopilot system and turn the Heading switch to On. The aircraft will then fly in that direction. For long overnight flight can I just turn on gps mode as you did then go to sleep for the night, let the game fly and complete my flight In the morning? ATC usually tells me to change my heading or altitude and if I don’t they yell at me and terminate my IFR flight plan. How do I fix the problem so I don’t have to be up every 15 minutes changing heading and listening to ATC?

It's certainly possible to do that if you don't use ATC at all. Otherwise, you'd need to climb to your cruising altitude, turn on LOC to follow the GPS and then they won't tell you to adjust anything. However, they will still point out traffic and tell you to change frequencies every now and again which will need a response
