I met Michael when the Jackson 5 performed at the Worlds Fair in Spokane WA in 1974. My family performed there as well. We were in the same hotel and the Jackson boys and my brothers and sisters hung out for the day. We all had a blast. Michael was as kind and normal as the rest of them. You could tell they were very focused when it come to performing even during practice. When they hit that stage it was just amazing! Flawless vocals! Janet was just little and stood back stage with her mother. It was heart breaking when Michael left this world way too soon. Rest In Peace Michael , you are loved and missed daily!

Game Hero Yes! I was very lucky! In all my years as a child performer hanging with the Jackson 5 was the highest moment of my career. Great family! I don't think people remember that they are just down home folk from Indiana, with amazing talent. Michael had James Brown's moves down to a "T". It was like his feet were floating above the floor.

My best friend Matthew who was my childhood buddy from middle school knew this was my favorite song and he played it for me when we were going to different high schools because he knew I was so sad I was never going to see him again. I was very shy and people use to bully me so I was very attatched to him since he was the only one nice to me. My all time favorite song rendition by MJ since I was in secondary grade.My mother loves this song so much that even if i am not a real good singer she would let me sing this song in front of her students, colleagues, friends and even just her as my audience with my guitar... until i grow old i still sing for her. Tomorrow is her 2nd death anniversary May 4th and a memorial service will be offered to her. I will sing this song during the mass because she told me to sing this particular song when she dies. And she told me that long time ago when I was a teenager. I hope i will give justice to MJ's "i'll be There". Mama sing with me, okay? RIP Mama and MJ.

MJ never meant too much for me till I listened to this song... I kinda get teary. It inspired me to listen to more of him. I can't relate to the people who really loved him, but I mourn him as a great singer and I great person.

I just can’t believe it, I just think about him everything I will always remember him.. I will see him in Heaven, I know he is hopefully listening to my prayers sometimes. I just love him I’m only 9 so I will get emotional... I love MJ! The people who dislike are jealous I mean his voice is so peaceful relaxing, and smoothing.... I could listen to him everyday. This song makes me think he’s listening to our prayers because he is saying “I’ll be there.” I feel like when I die he will be waiting for me at the gates... and Jesus With God and my family members.

In spite that I'm 30, grew up listening to Michael Jackson only during his Beat It days, I still feel a huge loss. He's a huge part of my childhood till my late teens. I still feel sad whenever I think that he's no longer with us. In our hearts always.

My daughter was about 6. My husband became abusive as i was leaving for good with the clothes on our back and nothing else,This song came on.I guess she understood the words and said i sing this to u mom.I put my head down and started crying.Shes still my sunshine on those dark days.We made it!!!
