Jackson Bell Model 556 - Reproducing a Trim Piece | Knobs | Playing Lonesome Avenue by The 126ers

Using some 3/16" dowels rods/wood veneer to recreate a piece of trim molding that was missing when I acquired the receiver in addition to four knobs before playing Lonesome Avenue by The 126ers using one of my AM transmitters.

I really love that design, and a good job to have it restored. That one green line in the dial fights the dullness of all the browns and yellows and reds. I often wonder with these old radio's what one olive green thread in the speaker cloth would do.

Sounds great and looks beautiful Don, for some reason I can’t remember the chassis restoration. Nice to see the radio fused and the foil end of the caps all marked. Knowing you, the rewound power transformer should handle today’s higher voltages.

Far cheaper than going to a home improvement store to try and match the fluting. You could do the ends to match the curved fluting but why overkill it. It looks fine and sounds excellent too Don.

Looks Great , myself I have the sstran 3000 transmiter ,far as your Casting goes what product did you use I bought Some alumilite silicon molding and resin casting material .
