From the 1977 album, " Running on Empty", Rosie was performed on the BBC in 1978, the true identity of the lyrics, never realized until later. Such a great melody, beautiful vocals, humorous lyrics, 🤣🤣, you're cracking me up Harri, giving too much thought to it all. It took a few listens back in the day to realize the meaning. I shared the album with my 19 yo grandson a few months ago (he is big time into collecting vinyls now) and and told him that there will be bonus points if he gets the meaning of the song. Had to end up explaining it. My wife has listened to the Running On Empty with me (first saw JB in concert in 1979) and she was there when I explained it my grandson. She never knew the meaning either and now has a hard time listening to it 🤣

I drove truck cross country for a living back then and I ran into his roadies at a truck stop and they told me about this song. His stuff tock two trucks to transport. Harri, the verses are about a real girl, the chorus is about every guy’s first girlfriend. Think about the chorus. His hand wears his ring, his hand turns out the light, etc…..
