For me, the Rhoads had more bite and a familiar sound that was pleasing to my ears. The B.C. Rich had a fuller, thicker tone. Nothing wrong with either one, but I would get the Jackson.

Great video! I gravitate towards the BC for most things now and I agree that it's a bit more substantial of an axe day in and out. However, I find the Jackson to have more of an edge in leads and soloing.

Your speculation about Matt wanting a Les Paul in a flying V 100% tracks. I remember when he started playing a white LP Custom and a Zakk Wylde LP a few months into the Scream Aim Fire era tour cycle and I'm guessing he found those a lot more applicable for live playing. Don't know if you've ever tried a Zakk LP but the necks on those things are HUGE. Personally, I hate that, and it was a bummer when I found that out. I always thought Matt looked really cool with that bullseye LP on stage and in some of the Fever studio vids. There's one in particular I can think of where Jay was giving a tour of the studio and Matt and Moose were working on an early version of the Breaking Out, Breaking Down riff. I could go on forever about this band lol. Great video man, I miss classic Bullet.

Yeah I know the studio diary you mentioned there. Used to go back and watch those all the time. And yeah I tried a ZW Les Paul around the time I was weighing up getting the BC and the neck was like a tree trunk!

Hey man great video! Personally i love the white jackson because i feel like its his trademark everyone knows matt for hid white randy rhoads jackson. I am extremely curious though what were the songs you were playing for the clean tones

dude!!! i just got a Matt stuck BC Rich and it’s awesome. plays great and the tones + sustain that guitar has is immaculate. quick question tho: have you noticed that the low e sound a little “djenty” or strat-like? let me know!!!!

Great video. Spoke to you on insta about just landing the Tuck Rhoads. It’s a much more beautiful guitar in my view than the BC Rich but the BC Rich seems to have a slight edge when it comes to sound. Do we know why Matt left Jackson?

Thanks! Like I said In the video I think he just wanted a more road worthy guitar which could handle being knocked around a bit more and cope with the day to day of touring etc. there was also the infamous download incident where his black Jackson want staying in tune so he smashed it to bits at the end of the set. He moved into BC soon after that.

I have the rhoads and my mate has the bcrich I’ve played both and I prefer the Jackson but the bc rich does offer a more deeper tone and more thickness to the chugs I’ve found. Time to watch the rest of the vid 😂

I can’t say I noticed much of a difference when on the high gain/distorted stuff especially because of the Metalcore Bullet plays but clean the BC rich sound s much better imo

How can you hear a difference?

Well I guess it’s hard to tell especially if watching on your phone or whatever. But if you ask most of the guys on here who own these guitars there’s a definite difference between how these guitars sound. The BC is 100% deeper and has more of a scooped kind of sound going on with it. I guess it’s a feel thing too which is hard to get across on a video. Thanks for your question!
