I met Zakk back in the 90's when he was recording the first Pride & Glory album at London Bridge studios. He was so cool and down to earth! He invited me to come and listen to the tracks after I got off work, which led to me getting to hang with him for a few weeks during the recording. So then Steve Vai comes to town at a place called Parkers, Zakk says He's gonna go and that I should check it out. Being a huge Vai fan I didn't need much persuasion, and the show was amazing. At the end of the show, Vai says he's got a special guest coming up to join him, Zakk walks up on stage. Playing through the singer's rig and guitar, Zakk traded licks with Vai on a jam and killed it. The next day back at the studio I asked Zakk if he was nervous at all going on stage with a legend, playing through a guitar and gear he was totally unfamilliar with. His answer changed the way I thought of being a musician; "Brother, you either play guitar or you don't." How simple yet accurate, Love that guy!

You're right about Crazy Babies as a song and I've never pushed fast forward on that time I promise ya and obviously you haven't either you've got wicked musical taste man👍!

Met Zakk at a GC event where he was doing photos and signing whatever you threw at him to promote his guitars. He shook hands with and hugged every single person there and was one of the nicest most genuine musicians I've ever met, and I've met a lot of them. Zakk is the real deal. He loves his fans. He IS a fan. He just all around gets it.

In 1993 my friend called me and told me to come up to the store he worked at to see Zakk play in the parking lot. He played his stars and bars Les Paul and did a great set with a couple local guys backing him up.

yes, but I still think he played better/sounded better on his old Gibson bullseye guitar than anything else he's ever picked up.

Zakk is one of the Truest and most Honest Metalmen, Ever. That guy, saw a place in the world that he could fill, better than anyone else, and after Barb told him she had enough, He went on to carry metal for so many years at its highest place, held up for all it is for all of us who come from that place, and for that, Zakk deserves to be remembered for a lot more than the guitar playing, because he was in it for more than that all this time, hes kind of Metals Obi Wan now...hes been there as the wide eyed kid, thrown into it all, and now, a lifetime later, the path he walked is something he doesnt really say all that much about, he laughs it all off, but, He did it, and kept Metal pure to what it really was when it all started, No One has carried that torch as far or as long as Zakk Wylde has. \\m// \\m// Metal Forever.

I've been saying that exact thing paying my respects to EVH. Which just punched me in the heart when I said his name. To hear Zakk say King EDWARD just cements it for me. I been hunched over my guitar 40 years stealing Eds work. I just thought him,Jimmy, Jimmy, Randy, Angus and Zakk all had their own Kingdom somewhere. I think Eds was paved with gold and jewels. I will say one of my fav tunes was " No More Tears" I absolutely love the mix of dropped D, slide and slam. I copped some of the chops out of a book transcribed by Jesse Gress who was Editor for Melody maker I think, and whom I had the absolute pleasure of taking lessons from at Star music in Allentown PA for a few months. He was with Todd Rundgen. Jesse is sick with an incurable lung disease. I saw Zakk and thought what a great way to reach out to the rock community and ask that if you can possibly, in these trying times. Check out the Go fund me page for Jesse Gress and perhaps kick in a fin and a prayer for one of the nicest down to Earth gentleman I've ever met. He was still in a band called the Stand at that time for anyone who may have seen him. I had to ask him after I saw him play one night. How he bent a note so high it disappeared. He said about the Eddie phenom early eighties days. He wanted to do something different so he tuned down a whole step and had his whammy bar literally scraping a track in his black Strat. He would bend a note then pull his whammy bar up through the hemisphere to extend this soaring long high note. I just wanted to share that little nug for Jesse. Ante up for Jesse if you can, please take a moment to send a prayer even if you can't. Peace from SC

Guthrie Govan, probably the best player who ever lived, so far. I'm a 60/70's blues/rock guy so his personal music is not even my thing, but he's probably the one that came closest to the complete mastery of the instrument, meaning that he can literally play whatever comes to his mind in the moment, no matter the style, tempo, complexity, musicality or feel, and on top of that, he has really beautiful and original ideas that do come to his mind. I think when guitarists walk into a room, they just know who's who, and I can't think of a room in which there's anyone who can outplay him.

Got to meet Zakk Wylde a couple years ago and he has to be one of the kindest people I’ve interacted with. Meeting hero’s is nerve wracking and he made everyone feel welcome and appreciated as fans. Also love the accent coming outta that bearded beast
