@@csm420 I don’t know about that. Skenes would have the best ERA in all of MLB if eligible. He is 8-2 on an average Pirates team and his WHIP would be in the top three. That’s not chop liver for a rookie pitcher.

Profar actually leads the MLB in clutch stats. Merrill is 17th, but ya, he's been amazing. Our outfield was supposed to be weak but thanks to Profar and Merrill WAAAY overperforming, it's one of the best lol. Gotta love it.

Never bought a baseball card in my life until a few days ago. But I recently bought Jackson's rookie card. We would not be in a playoff position without him. It takes an entire team's great effort to help get a team into playoff contention; it takes a champion player to push the team across the line and secure a playoff spot.

I haven't ever seen a rookie that thrives on late-inning heroics like this kid. Jackson Merrill is amazing. His numbers are just getting better. Paul Skenes is a good pitcher, but he has only thrown 114 innings. Skenes hasn't played all year - not even close.

merrill has almost single handedly won more games than skenes has, by far (offense is valued much higher than defense, despite what WAR says. the available WAR allocations for pitchers and position players are different, and it favors pitchers)
