My SLX is really good. Sounds and plays well has good tuning stability. But mine is a few years old from when they were 499.00. Mine was 299.00 factory second because of a minor paint issue.

I 100% agree with you I use to be a diehard Jackson player it was a lot of money back then but you use to be able to get there usa stuff new for $2400 now there USA guitars are over $4000!!!! It’s ridiculous and I loved there Japanese stuff as well it really sucks Jackson was my go to but I feel like when fender bought them out it ruined the brand

They have a new USA model for 2k now. Cheaper than Custom Shop or American series. It's called the Virtuoso series

I have a 2 Jackson x series Rickenbacker looking 5and 4 string basses and a Dave Ellifson bass with absolutely no problems . All are made in Indonesia 😅

i have the signiture pro series mick thompson soloist in white. made in Indonesia. tuned to drop c# with a custom set of coated strings its got the hard tail floyd rose and randy rhoads 80s thin neck. its pretty sick but i liked it better with the emgs i had in it. for some reason i thought i needed to have the originals back in it, they are the Seymore Duncan emty blackouts. they have a growl that i dont think agrees with the guitar. they sounded great in my js32 king v and explorer kit guitar. they've been swapped around alot as well as many others i have lol. just posted a video about putting emgs into a cheap glarry strat. thanks for sharing!

I have a Jackson Dinky DX1 pro from 1995 I think it was built in China Not sure how it stacks up to other Jacksons but in 95 is was my dream axe and seems very high quality
@thecreepycrawl1413 Жыл бұрын
In tue 90s, even their imports were quality. I drooled over a Dinky reverse with a stone finish and maple neck. Can't remember if it was from Japan or China, but they were quality then.

I have the green crackled version which I bought it new a few years ago. Mine has been awesome. I did replace the stock pickups with EMG JR Daemonums. The fit and finish was perfect when I bought it. I sounds like your guitar was made on a Friday at quitting time.

Anything affiliated to Fender right now is overpriced and garbage. Edit: except squier. They’re cool
@thecreepycrawl1413 Жыл бұрын
It's funny. I know Fender owns them. I followed all that when Jackson was for sale and Mustane wanted to buy it. I just never remember that fact. Once I do it makes sense. Haha
@Releasethebats123 Жыл бұрын
@@thecreepycrawl1413 haha yeah I live about 10 minutes away from the Suhr factory and about 30 minutes away from the Fender factory. I can tell you they both hire people from temp agencies with zero experience.

It happens. Honestly, and I know it sounds odd, but it's like a relationship with a person. However, that relationship starts off very intimate. It either works out or crashes.

,jackson pickups weren't active,they did use preamps tho .cool video..i agree earlier usa jacksons were great! (Ex employee)
@thecreepycrawl14139 ай бұрын
That's so rad. I did know that it was a preamp, just seems easier for most to understand if I say active. At least in my mind. Preamp in the pup or not??? Meh. Dude, you had my dream job, I wanted to grow up and work for Grover. What time period did you work there? Pre or post Fender? Maybe an interview???????? Someday.

@@thecreepycrawl1413 1987-89..started there in the "poly" room.. basically sanding the primer before paint,1 month later I moved to wiring and assembly then onto setup..I originally wanted to move to paint to learn all their techniques. They had some amazing talented painters but since I had mentioned I worked on guitars they asked me if I wanted to move to assembly

@@rikjones5924 Thats beyond rad. The "golden" years of Jackson IMO. Around that time I built this simple Soloist and dreamed of having it built but as a kid that was way out of range. I would do it as an adult but I want the pups from then. The slightly oversized hums with the preamp. Black HH Soloist, reverse headstock, ebony board and MOP shark fins and a Kahler. All black hardware. Others included an King V, 1 hum (same pups) all gold hardware and a candy red finish. Ebony board with MOP shark fins. Also Kahler. Thanks for sharing. Do you have anything from then that you hung onto all these years?

No experience with the SLX series, but this year I've picked up an X Warrior and a JS32 Warrior, which are both amazing, with a little bit of work they set up nice. Put EMG's in both, not crazy about the stock pickups but they didn't sound... terrible. The JS32 in my opinion plays much better than my X in fact. I love 'em.

Floyd Rose 1000 is great, the Floyd Rose Special is garbage and the saddles strip too easily. If anyone buys an X series guitar, be ready to replace saddles if not the entire Floyd with an OG, a Schaller Lockmeister, an FU-2, or a Gotoh 1996t
