Its called cranking its a hbcu/show style of playing. I call it “deflating” they breath properly but just are playing as loud as they physically can while also having control. Its pretty difficult!

These are all US marching version of euphoniums not baritones which are smaller.

They have no control over their instrument. They think rising up and moving their horns up and down and leaning back makes them play louder. Tones are sad. Overall their only mission is to play loud. Not to sound good. Mission accomplished i guess.
