That 1000 steps a minute was FIRST done by Alabama State University of Montgomery,AL over 80 years ago. My mother recall friends practicing it to try out to get into the band. Years later we, after I finished Jr High, I recall watching my friends practicing the steps too to audition for the band. They had to do the 1000 steps before they even tried applying. And there had better be no one coming at me saying otherwise because it’s ON RECORD. The other school that did it was Tuskegee. After that, all Black Step bands started doing it.
