I agree 100% that Edelman is undervalued and a great player. The thing I don't see, and this happens most years with the Pats, is the recognition of the learning curve. Every year newer players take the first half of the season and learn the way to play with Tom and Belichick and then the offense starts to "get it" in the 2nd half. The schedule had us playing easy games in the first half, which just resulted in 8-0. We may lose to Baltimore, and we will likely lose one of the next 5 or 6 games, but it will just make us better for the playoff run and SB. Its the way it works. Everyone saying the offense can't cut it this year is just forgetting that we do this every year. We will be fine in December, where it counts the most. I love being a Patriots fan. What a wonderful 20 years, and its not over yet!

Good analysis one thing I want to point out and add on is about the throw at 4:50. Brady throws it low to protect Edelman from taking a hard hit from the outside corner. Brady makes lots of smart throws like this to protect his #1 weapon.

Only time Patriots have loss in the superbowl is cause they didn’t have Julian Edelman. Let that sink in 👌🏼

Daniel Alberto Ayala De Leon I think Julian Edelman wasn’t even a starter at that point. I’m not sure. But Welker definitely has a curse on him man. He went to 3 superbowl and won none. Damn

L . O . R I know but technically he lost two, and damn such bad luck for Welker

Daniel Alberto Ayala De Leon I guess so. But ever since edelman got the nod to start. He’s been a beast. Can’t complain. Win some you lose some. Dude plays with ton of heart and passion.

And considering he was like 2 years old when they lost to the Bears, I'm not sure he would have made a difference in that game.

Chritian McCaffrey, Julian Edelman disguised as a running back. Both are terrific, smart and tough, similar speed and shiftiness, joys to watch.

Jule's is the IRON MAN. All you need to know about that is the hit he took from Cam Chancellor in SB49.......228 lbs. vs 190 lbs. at full speed. Chancellor crumbled to the ground. Jule's stumbled another 10-12 yards before being tackled. Elephant NUTZ!!!!

He is targeted more frequently, lack of other options. He has definitely lost at least one step. He is not nearly as quick in and out of breaks. The separation he creates is smaller, takes him longer to come open. He still can ball but he is on the down swing.

How smart is Jewels? Smart enough to know his $7M salary as a "Patriot" is worth at least that much every year in commercial fees and endorsements. As a Super Bowl MVP who knows what that's worth. Like many of the Patriots he takes the long view. Amandola has missed out on how many Super Bowls? (Danny, DAnny, Danny, I loved you so.)

It doesn't matter, 4 or 5 sb appearances, short and white opened 90% of his routes. Alot don' t thinks he's elite. its easy to be tall, black and run straight instead of these cross, wiggle, your way around and potential smacked in the middle.

As great as BB is it's Josh McDaniels who does the offensive play calling so props to him for having underneath crossing routes called against single high safety looks. Having good plays called puts the players in the best position to make a play, but they still have to go out and do it and against man coverage it just comes down to beating your man. On each of those 3 plays Edelman does something to sell his man on another route or to create just enough doubt for the db that he's getting a yard and half 2 yards of seperation at least. Most receivers in the league don't do that with any consistancy and Edelman does it just a bout every single play which is why he consistently carves up defenses unless you bracket him. I honestly can't imagine there are more than 8 or so wideouts in the league who would be more valuable to the Pats than Edelman is.
