Hey, been watching for a while, great video, awesome intro, (Rambo is still badass)... You've inspired many mods on my NC, here in the UK, keep up the gpod work, can't wait to see what next.

The dual holes for an upstream o2 sensor (all upstream o2 sensors have been wideband for the past 20~ years) and an EGT sensor.

Is the EGR staying? Just cleaned out mine and was a real pain to get out. Was stuck open and caused a huge vacuum leak. Loose carbon kept it from closing. Car only has 110000km on. Can't wait to see your completed project, would like to do something like that as well one day.

Pro tip when you get it in the car wipe the header down with acetone so when it colours from heat u won't see you finger prints and it will turn a beautiful gold colour. Keep up the good work 😄

Already wiped!

Fantastic build, I would be interested to know how it feels once in the car. Would it affect the perfect 50/50 weight distribution? Would it be worth all that effort? What made you go for a 2.5L swap? (Even though it’s somewhat common) and not down the turbo option? Would like to hear your thoughts. Awesome channel on all things NC

It really depends on the owner. You could spend the money and have someone else put in the effort, but I certainly value the experience gained from all of this. Weight difference is negligible. No turbo because my 2.0 has 120,000 miles on it and would rather not heavily modify an older engine.

You could’ve learned the same stuff if you rebuilt the 2.0L with possible forged internals etc. I know supercharging these are easy as bolt on as it gets. Would be interesting if you could rebuild the old motor and plonk a turbo/supercharger and put it in a another mx5 NC and compare the two.

Dont want to mess with an older engine

Fair play, good build and very well done. I would eventually boost my own nc just to go through the process and learn for myself whether it’s worth it or not. I had a compression test done recently on my 120k mileage nc and it’s healthy as a nut. Also depends on if I’m bothered in the end.

Heey just saw the video. Quick question if you know. I got a 1.7 inch on my 2.5 ( very mild cammed) do you think it is worth to upgrade to that one ?
@ColoredinLight2 жыл бұрын
I think you'd probably be fine

Since you didn't go with an integrated cat in the header, what are you going to do downstream for an exhaust?
@ColoredinLight4 жыл бұрын
Same as what I already have, catted midpipe

@@ColoredinLight Perfect, thanks for the response. I run the RoadsterSport MX5 STREET Header after my cat failed at 180k miles.
