As I watched this one more time, I realize that Tom was diving "for" his father in the 2008 China Olympics and "for" his two sons in the 2024 Paris Olympics ... WHAT a family and WHAT a commitment!!! Tom and his siblings might have lost their father at a young age, but they didn't lose his guiding, supportive spirit!

How special. Tom and his dad were so lucky to have each other and the time they did have with each other! So many don’t even get that. We forget how lucky we are. It is sad that Tom and his dad are no longer physically together but I am sure Tom’s dad is with him every day.

i bawled my eyes out at this documentary. his dad seemed so strong and supportive of tom and it breaks my heart he is no longer with him. so proud of tom for doing so well in his career, coming out as gay and not giving up after his dad died. love you tom!!

Oh this is making me cry 😢 😭 Robert was so loving and supportive, no wonder Tom never forgets to mention him at his interviews. I'm amazed at how well Tom handled it all with the way he spoke and supported his mother. He's so much wiser beyond his years and such an inspiration to the world.

That must have been so hard for him trying to focus on his training, and competing while his dad was so unwell. Such a brave young man, and bless his dad. He'd be so proud of him. He has such a supportive family. I lost my mum to cancer when i was 21, so i know how hard it is to watch. I honestly dont how Tom carried on bless him. He managed to keep going

I’m sure that Tom will always miss his father very much. I like to believe that his father has seen everything he has accomplished and the family he’s made from afar since his passing. But him not being physically there creates a hole for sure 😔
