Few things! Hindi is a language, but Hindu is the religion. You can't speak "Hindu" in the same way you can't speak "Christian". Also, Sanskrit is not used anymore really in daily life, it's like saying that Italy speaks Latin. The script is Devanagari, with the lines across the top, but it is used for a lot of different languages. Like how a lot of languages use the Latin script, but they are not all the same language. In this case, Bangladesh uses the Bangla writing system, and its language is Bengali. It looks similar to Devanagari, but it is different.

To be fair there are harder things Geoguessr players use than poles. Poles are at least varied between countries (although some countries do have similar/the same poles depending on what you mean by poles) whereas geoguessr pros have played so many rounds and have such good pattern recognition that sometimes they can just look at the grass and tell which country is from the vibe alone.

10:45 All countries around the southern coast of the North Sea have the same problem: Not enough natural stone for architecture, but many muddy places with lots of clay. Hence, you have an extensive use of bricks at those places. There is one big exception for the brick rule though: 19th century German industrial architecture, which is often using red and yellow clinker brick, especially in regions formerly under the rule of Prussia. Mountainous areas are not very good for farming, hence they were used for timber. As soon as you are in mountainous places, timber is a common material for construction. Slate used for roofing points you to the places with large slate quarries, which are typical for the mountain ranges in Southern Poland, Czechia, Central Germany, Luxemburg, Southern Belgium and Eastern France.

my problem with the google car meta is it breaks out of the geoguesser fantasy. you haven't learned something about the world with that, you've learned something about google street view, so it defeats the idea that you've been dropped somewhere on earth and can tell where you are based on just looking around
@AurinneA3 ай бұрын
Yeah, this is always a difference among players. Oscar acknowledges this, too, but since he's a pro training to play in the World Cup, learning the Google-related metas is necessary. Many players these days also find it necessary if they play duels a lot, since they know - at the very least - their opponents are most likely using basic ones like Kenya snorkel and Ghana tape. One of those things they sadly have to accept if they want to be highly competitive...but, yes, many "normal" players still choose not to actively study them so that they can just enjoy the "pure" Geoguessr experience. (It's just a pity that a small number of players like to make meta/no meta something to argue or be superior about. 😔)
@tallemajas3 ай бұрын
i think it seems like that at the surface level, but i actually disagree. the google car meta usually just tells you the country (there are exceptions, in russia for example, but at least most of the basic meta is this way) if you find a basic reliable way to guess the country in the first place, then you start to focus on getting good at recognizing regions within that country, and in the end your knowledge becomes richer than the knowledge of most people who don't use the car meta! i used to be a meta free player and i've learnt a lot more about the world since i started using the cars :)
