Clark is such a cool dude. Absolutely killed it and envious of him getting to play a Jaco bass.

It is very disrespectful to Jaco playing like drummer (slapping) . Please never do that to that instrument again.

Clark never disappoints on knowledge or chops. He's the kind of bass player I know I would want to work with daily. The part about Jaco applying epoxy to the fingerboard of his bass came to my attention during 2020 when I entered the market for my own fretless model. It was referred to as a measure to take if I wanted to slap on the fretless, something which most people I've spoken to on the subject have discouraged. I don't know if the model I ended up with (a custom Carvin originally built for a good friend) was assembled with a layer of epoxy applied to its fingerboard, but that is something I hope to have done in the future.

I’d make sure to research it as much as possible. Jaco used a particular type but not long after his luthier stripped it and applied a more viscous type that was done in one layer.

Nice!!! Great Bass! Attention to detail is off the hook ! Lucky enough to see Jaco at Winterland for Heavy Weather. It was awesome. Some guy kept saying 'dance Jaco, dance' during 'Teen Town'. He just smiled and tore it up. BTW, opening act, Al DiMeola for 'Elegant Gypsy'. Encore guest? One of Al's faves, Carlos Santana. Pretty great show ;) Nice big 3 pick. Great player yourself, Clark!

I never understand why Fender didn't put on precision controls rather than Jazz ones. They spend all that effort on the distressed finish and ignore the obvious. There must be a reason. Anyone know?
