She also did the movie "Heartburn" based on her own marriage at the time, when her husband betrayed her and cheated on her and the struggles of divorce. The movie starred Meryl Streep and Jack Nicholson, it was based on her own experience. I don't know what she saw in Carl Bernstein, that man was hideous and gross looking when he was young. She could do way better. I'm glad she moved on from that fulgy man and found true happiness because she was an extraordinary women.

And yet Carl Bernstein never lacked for female companionship! (That was Nora’s main problem with him.) In fact, a friend once called me, giggling uncontrollably, from the ladies’ room at a professional group’s New Year’s Eve formal dinner to announce that Carl was present as the blind date of the org’s fortyish divorced daughter!
