what time signature is this? It doesn't feel like 4/4, but it does?
@HanifAmanullah
@HanifAmanullah 5 жыл бұрын
@@soporificsnail8675 the song is a modified bossa nova beat, which is technically notated in 2/4 (thus the even 4/4 feel). the snare-rim hit is played in a clave pattern (3-2, 2-3), and that's what makes it feel like a weird signature :)

Can you notice that Jacob is switching the way he sings every time Maro comes in? He goes for a "Maro" version of his voice, and once she steps in he then switches to his full voice so you can have more fuller colour. Its these little things...

@Runescape.
@Runescape. 3 жыл бұрын
yes he taught her to do it, go listen to her 2015 recordings, her voice is actually pretty bad sounding,. she is doing some whisper falsetto now that he does too because they both are not very pretty singers. jacob has amazing composing skills and intonation but his actual voice is kind of ugly. same with maro, they both learned to do this sort of whisper falsetto as others are saying here to cover up their poor voices.

Everything here is heavenly, Collier is genius. When Maro sings, the heart shudders... It's the most velvety voice I've ever heard. And the Portuguese european language with its more closed vowels, transforms that voice into the most perfect, serene and cozy sound. ❤️ P. S.: She is by far my #1 to win Eurovision this year.

Here, she just looks like she is concentrating, and, as she normally plays for a well known orchestra and that is probably just the mode they play in. Not too much call for a "smiley" orchestra. ;-P She is being panned across by the camera @ 0:14, and looks just fine to me. If you look at Jacob's attitudes and actions, I HIGHLY doubt she is "what he said" anyway, but I don't know her. Maybe he got the comment from another vid., really makes no sense to this one here. That, or he's just trolling. More likely the latter. Also, the old judge a book...cover saw...wisdom there...

Breathtaking. This is so deep... Heavenly strings, MARO's voice so velvetly as always (probably any song with her voice becomes magical), Jacob's solo just profoundly storytelling... Less is more this time. I could not imagine for a second that this song could be more beautiful than it already was. I am UTTERLY convinced Jacob is able to take any genre, any kind of music and get it in another dimension! Simply the best musician on the face of the earth.

There’s rare moments in life, when you know you’ve just met the person your heart has yearned for and there’s times music inexplicably finds its way to the very core of your soul to remind you that love and beauty is the essence of life, who we are and how we can ripple waves of hope on to others and move mountains if need be!Jacob, every note is like a step to bliss, every word a jump of faith, every sound an adrenaline rush that lifts us! Your music transcends all logical understanding, breaks all barriers and makes life so worth living. If we only could listen more to the beauty that surrounds us and of course, your music that completes us and fills us. Thank you for your wonderful music would be an understatement. We are all so truly blessed by your amazing talent, inspirational works of art and sensitivity that paints our lives in colors we have never seen before. Congrats for the Grammies.....you so deserve it!
