Have you seen Jacob's "Little Blue" from the same Mahogany session (same room in fact)? It is life-alteringly beautiful. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I have never heard of these people or this song but THANK YOU SO MUCH for introducing me. This was magical.❤

Highly highly recommend diving more into Jacob Collier! His other Mahogany sessions are very similar, and Little Blue even better than this one, IMO. While a lot of his music is nowhere near this serene, he does have a few more like this, especially on his Djesse Vol 2 album.

Chris Thile has been my favorite artist for about 15 years and I've loved Jacob Collier and Madison Cunningham for years as well. I totally agree with you that these three should be a permanent trio. I would give anything to hear them in a venue like this. You'e actually reacted to Chris Thile before when he performed "Dean Town" with Vulfpeck. I would love to see you react more to any of these artists.

Maddison Cunningham deserves so much love that voice could bring me to a world light years away or to my first ever memory from when I was a baby

Jacob has such an amazing ear and creative ability to make such soothing songs outside of normal boundaries. Chris thule himself was in a fantastic bluegrass group Nickle Creek.

I would recommend Jacob's "Little Blue" which is also shot in this location, it's... quite the amazing song.

It's a travesty that this likely won't get the views or numbers others might. It's a stunning performance and piece of art that so many should experience.

Thile is pronounced as Thee-Lee. He is one of the world’s virtuosos on mandolin. He is ‘famous’ for his bluegrass band Nickel Creek, which was 3 child prodigies when it was formed.
@makokuma78818 ай бұрын
By the way, Nickel Creek’s music is phenomenal and their 3 part harmonies are ear candy, like in this one. You should check them out some time.

Seems like I have a cd of Chris when he was much younger...a baseball diamond on the cover? Like was he 9?
@makokuma78817 ай бұрын
Ha! Yep, that’s him. He was already a prodigy worthy of a solo album at that age.

Chris Thile (thee-lee) is one of the best mandolinists in the world and a first-rate songwriter (and singer) himself. Both he and Jacob collaborate with many other artists, with Chris fronting both Nickel Creek and Punch Brothers, among many other collaborations. Jacob recently performed this song with Dodie at the Kennedy Center.

I have followed Chris Thile for decades, found Madison through Chris about 5 years ago, and Jacob about 5 years ago as well. These 3 are some of the best to ever perform. They have done around 4 concerts together, and I hope for many more. I agree with others that the "Little Blue" from the Mahogany sessions is a must. Madison also has a Mahogany performance, just is a different space. "All I've Ever Known". That will showcase what she's mostly known for, her guitar skills and her songwriting. For more Chris, there is a performance of his newer bluegrass band, Punch Brothers, doing "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald", live in Boston on the KZbin channel Less Than Face Productions. It will blow your mind the power that comes from acoustic performance, performed simply around 1 mic. Whatever your picturing, your most likely wrong.

Wait Chris Thile is from Punch Brothers??? Man I've listened to them for years too and didn't ever put it together (or look the members up for that matter). That's awesome, thanks for that. Missing Becca Stephens lately for these kinds of performances too! Her and Jacob sound so good together.

As mentioned above there are a number of Mahogany sessions in this format . Little Blue and Ocean wide Canyon deep from Jacob are excellent .He released a versionof Bjork's Hyper Ballad from the same session today but it did not resonate with like the others.I see Mahogany has a large play list of other artists in a simalar format that i will have to check out.
