So often in my life I have had people tell me I should listen to happier music, that it would help me to be less sad and depressed, as if my emotions had no depth and they could just be brushed away and so easily be replaced, but I know this to be a lie, and it makes me wonder if such people truly feel emotions as deeply as I do, but after years of living with this struggle I have come up with what I believe to be a far more accurate recommendation for anyone like me, anyone who struggles with deep sorrow and depression, who seeks solace in music that is dark, sad, heart wrenching, sorrowful, and honest; you don't need to stop listening to the music that you love, the music that understands you, but if that music does not bring you hope, please find music that does give you hope, and listen to that as well. For me this usually means listening to Blue October's newer music, it's still sorrowful, yearning, and honest, but it is also full of hope💙 This may not be for you, but I felt like this needed to be said here

They were one of my husbands favorite bands and I haven’t been able to listen yet but I know they have a lot of music that will help me heal. Hopefully this will push me to take that leap 💙

KZbin recommendations are usually ok, but ....wow. Jacob .....Last time I was so blown away was Pear Jams 10 album in 1990. His poetry/lyrics are so legendary and so relatable to my chaotic life. I am a poet myself and I have to say that I am truly blessed to find his art. I like to think that universe wanted me to see this..... Wow.
