How do you silence the voices? Drugs 😂. What a gem. I'm not tired of hearing people's opinion on FFS. As long as it's well thought out and genuine, I'm happy to hear it. I know it feels like a dead horse, but it's and important topic in fishing right now, and this is a fishing podcast.

That was my favourite line of the whole show 😂. Glad you enjoyed the show & I do agree it’s hard not to talk about FFS now days. It is a very big topic & no matter what you talk about it seems FFS winds it’s way into the conversation. Thanks for watching and commenting

Jacob I never got fired for watching Bass Live, but I did have a foreman in our fab shop ask if I could send him the link so he could pull it up on his computer. I spent the entire 2022 season with my phone propped up on my work bench, and Bluetooth connected to my Milwaukee speaker. I didn't miss a single minute of it. It helped that my foreman was a high school fishing team coach, and we had 4 or 5 of us in the shop that really enjoy fishing.

Thanks David, I appreciate you watching. As far as the MLF / Bass deal I think it’s getting old. Maybe I am too close to it but it just feels like it’s been covered & unless the guest takes it in that direction I usually don’t go that direction. Hope that makes sense

Great show as usual. I agree with Jacob. I think they will eventually have to set a rule to limit the amount of electronics used. Just to make it a level playing field. I don’t believe it will ever be done away with. It’s just a tool.
@brent3323
@brent3323 Жыл бұрын
As soon as FFS became a thing, I said that it would eventually come around to pushing fish and fisherman back to the bank and visible cover. Because of what Jacob said so far as fish hearing you coming. Anymore, if my rod touches bottom, I'm turning all of my electronics off... just to try and get an advantage.

In 10 years, someone will be sitting around, asking what it will be like in another 10 years. In both instances, the sport of bass fishing is going to be better than it was 10 years prior. The most hilarious thing about the technology discussion to me, is that no one, literally no one, talks about the fact that mapping technology has made the biggest impact of anything. You can sit at home and identify every area you think should hold fish, and just drive around on the lake to check each spot out in person and at that point, a 2D sonar and sidescan can tell you if there are fish there and what they’re doing. But nobody talks about how mapping is what actually got people finding and catching more fish than anything else has come close to.

I think the FFS thing is way overblown. My club, 5 Alive BASSMasters has 150 members. We just finished up our season and the top 5 fish as follows, 1st shallow/flipper, 2nd FFS, 3rd off shore 2d, 4th FFS, 5th shallow/flipper. 5 of our 11 events were on Tidal water so that might negate some of the effectiveness of FFS but I’ll put my money on and stick to shallow/flipping. Thanks for mentioning the Federation Jacob, anyone can get to the Classic that way, I did twice!

Please consider doing an episode about "so called instinct fishing". Most tournaments in the last 15 yrs have been won by extensive use of technology. Then you have these other non-instinct scenarios: sight fishing, shad spawn, herring shad, drop shot deep vertical, marinas, lake history/home lake way points,,,,,,,,,,etc. Fishing riprap is not some great instinct.

People will debate the affordability of electronics and boats and talk about whether or not it's fair that guys that can afford the best have an advantage. This is the victim mindset of modern times lol I started with a small boat with a 150 on it and no electronics and fished tournaments like that and I still had top 10 finishes in BFL's and BassNation events and it can still be done to this day. John Cox is proof that you don't need a 75mph boat with 5 screens on it to compete at the highest level. People want an excuse for their failures. This year I have a brand new boat with FFS and you know how many times I used it during a tournament this year? 1 time. I used it once and it was one of my worst finishes. I ended up 5th in points in BassNation and didn't need it at all. I don't care if some one else relies on it to catch em because they will spin out when it isn't working out some times too. Either buy it and learn it if you feel like you're at a disadvantage or don't and stop complaining is how I feel about it lol

The fishing in fishing as we all knew it is forever gone with ffs. The young guys don’t make wrong decisions or struggle to find fish with it. The machine doesn’t lie. Take that off their boat and they couldn’t win a local derby. Take it off Powrozniks boat or Hackneys boat and there is no drop off in performance. That’s the real difference.

@@factsoffishing you are probably right. I may be a little hyper sensitive about the issue since it’s been non stop almost all season. It seems to me the old school “network” guys have the most to lose because now the new guys (getting 9 a season) don’t have to rely as much on knowledge and “networking” to find their fish. The sport is evolving very quickly and it’s grinding my gears that most of these anglers focus on “banning” or limiting the technology vs. adapting and overcoming. It’s gotten very old for me personally. And I’ll say this. If BASS does ban the tech or limits it, it’s not gonna be good. But nobodies asking me. And I do find it hilarious that some of these. “Old school” anglers all the sudden give a crap about BASS ratings. Lol. Come on man. Btw. Kudos to Schlapper for manning up and adapting and overcoming.
