The drownings in the channel were terrible however the people who died and all others were not migrants, they were attempting to arrive illegally in England.

Perhaps I am missing something but why can't these "refugees" make a legal application at the British embassy for asylum in the UK. Our diplomats could then point out they are Paris, which recently held the Olympics and the 6th most visited city in the world for tourism. Application denied. Having failed to make an application in France they will then be automatically denied asylum in the UK.
