This was this year’s Kennedy Center Honors. Honored this year were; Midori (violinist), Joan Baez (folk singer), Debbie Allen (actress/choreographer), Dick Van Dyke (actor), Garth Brooks (county singer). Traditionally held in December, it was delayed this year due to Covid. Format was also quite different from normal years with a lot of pre-recorded segments.

Her voice is AMAZING! I also loved her opening number “Higher Love” at the 2020 BMAs with Pentatonix and drummer Sheila E. inside the empty Dolby Theatre. I remember her winning too! She’s from Ft. Worth, TX!

Kelly has a way of grabbing your soul when she sings. Her own songs Because of You and Piece By Piece make me cry every time I hear them. She’s one of the best of her generation. I’ve been with her since she won AI, voted for her furiously. She keeps proving how much she was worth all that.

That was Debbie Allen sitting there - another Kennedy Center honoree. You might want to check out the Pentatonix collaboration for Dick Van Dyke as part of his portion of the show. Kelly Clarkson is a national treasure, isn't she? She also sang "Fancy" for her former Mother In Law when Reba McIntyre was honored a few years ago.

The Kennedy Center Honors is an annual honor given to those in the performing arts for their lifetime of contributions on American culture. Also any performance at Kennedy Center Honors will be be outstanding. James Taylor also honored Garth Brooks singing Garth’s The River, Adam Lambert saluting Cher singing Believe, Heart honoring Led Zeppelin singing Stairway to Heaven.
