We're sad to announce that tonight's Jacobin Show is actually our final Jacobin Show. We're so grateful for the support and community that was built around the channel. Your involvement with the show was really what made it worth it. We're also very proud of the videos we produced and hope our political interventions were fruitful. This certainly won't be the end of any of our involvement with left politics or left media, so expect to see us around again soon. Signing off with love and solidarity. Left is Best.

I've learned so much from Adolph and Toure' Reed and Walter Benn Michaels and Catherine Liu and Vivek Chibber and Jen Pan, et al. and still have so many questions that I, for one, can't imagine how closing this space makes ANY sense. It's a go-to for (actual) leftists and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way. In the interest of 'transparency' (ahem), I, for one, would like to know how shutting down the Jacobin Show serves the interests of our movement or leftist solidarity, more broadly - things I know you're all very much committed to. If it's a matter of personnel, surely there are others (as great as Jen is) who can pick up the slack. If it's a logistical issue, consider that the Jacobin Show has been our only access to many of these thinkers - and they always seemed more than happy to appear on this outlet. C'mon Jacobin: you're leaving us to a vast wasteland of bougie impresarios and their positivist-podcast pay-walled ratings wars. First Bernie, now this! HELP!!!

What a shocking, out of the blue downer that the Jacobin Show has come to an abrupt end. But it was a delight to see the inimitable Ariella Thornhill make a final appearance. Ariella exudes a blend of eloquence, wit and charm that is exceedingly rare in intellectual and political circles.

You all will be missed. When so many who claim to be on the left have embraced the corrupting cult of capital and sold their souls to Mammon, your respect for humanity and the dignity of those who labor, and reluctance to belittle and demonize people you did not agree with, while striving to hold power and the corrupt system accountable was sorely needed. Loved the show since it’s inception. You’ve presented some of the clearest and most substantive arguments in favour of universalism. Your critiques of both the left and the right, from a materialist base, are so needed and your absence will be a huge loss to the left media sphere. Hopefully this end will lead to new beginnings and reprieve from the sea of identitarians who have no regard for our collective wellbeing and do their best to jockey for a better position in an unfair system, rather than focus on making the system fairer for everyone. Cheers,

Bummer. I've always been pretty far left... well, let's be real: VERY far left. But I'm Gen-X, raised where "socialism" meant the bad guys: Stalin's repressive, authoritarian Union of Soviet SOCIALIST Republics. So I'd always couch my socialist leanings saying, "I'm a pro-New Deal patriot." The Jacobin changed that. Now, I'm a proud DSA member and vocal pro-labor anti-capitalist.

I've been depressed lately about how clueless the vast majority of people seem to be about the multitude of serious problems we need to address. Then ,boom, this morning I watch this Jacobin episode and it features this amazing organizer who not only can explain the problems(and potential) of the labor movement *BUT ALSO* has sophisticated ideas about how to address various current labor issues. And now I have *hope* that OMG YES there are people out in the trenches who haven't been co-opted by our totalitarian neoliberal order. Jacobin Show, thank you! You will be missed!!! The real problem with our democracy isn't Trump or the Republicans... they are only the biggest symptoms of the problem. The biggest problem is that there is not enough good information about what's happening to this country... we Americans may as well be living in Plato's cave or the USSR where all news had to be officially approved (by the Communist Party there, here by the corporate neoliberal establishment... same difference). Please come back with the show one day soon!
