Thanks for tuning in! Motorbiking the Khardung-La mountain pass in the Indian Himalayas was definitely the craziest motorbike trip of my entire life as we got into a terrible snow-storm at the top of the pass... However, experiences like this are one of the main reasons I love traveling so much and honestly I couldn't be happier about how this trip turned out. Life's short, there's no time to waste doing the easy thing, hey! Thanks for your time and I hope you enjoyed the video :) P.S. In 1986 when I was young, I traveled Sringar-Leh by road which took two days with a night halt at Kargil. The journey was awesome - out of the world experience. I slept two days in Leh with headache before even going around Leh. But I've never been above 13500 ft which was Fotu La (Pass). I've also gone up to Rohtang Pass above Manali twice in my life. It's about 13000 ft. The way to the pass was covered with huge ice walls and also fresh snow. It was snowing while on way to Rohtang Pass. That was the first time I saw what it means to be really snowing.

That was pretty crazy alright, great video! Four years ago I was hanging out in Manali waiting for the pass to open so I could do the bus journey to Leh. But the pass wasn't opening up. This was in April so there was still a lot of snow. Finally someone told me about the pass over the mountains from Kashmir, which was a shorter pass and would open up earlier. So I went by bus over there, but that pass still wasn't open. I had to wait in Kashmir for a week and finally the pass was open and I got over it and made it to Leh. Even after staying 10 days in Leh the pass to Manali still hadn't opened up, so I ended up taking a flight back to Delhi. It was still an awesome adventure though.

Himalayas are first HUGE especially India having most of it divided into different states combining they are as big as Switzerland, Austria and Bavarian Alps together. Second, there are lower, middle and higher Himalayas where higher are always experiencing a below 0°C temperature no matter when you go ,the middle is much more lush and has alpine forests with temperature around 13°C to 2°C during summers and -25°C to -12°C during the winter and then there is the lower Himalayas where you see summers that are pleasantly warm like around 19°C on peak and winters around -8°C on an average, lush valleys too.

Thanks for this wonderful video. I'm from TamilNadu, the brand maker & exporter of Royal Enfield motorcycles. Have been dreaming about hitting the Himalayan roads on my own Enfield all my life and is still in process. People might say I'm crazy, they really did. Next time they ask me, I'm going to tune in to 22:00(in the video) to give them an answer. Making Memories is absolutely what I crave for and I just feel pumped having watched this video. Thank you & Happy riding brother.

Man you are crazy !!! I got stuck in a similar situation and my head was almost exploding. At the same time, kept picking up the bike and my fellow rider almost giving up and wanted to lie down on the road then and there. That rain and snow mixture seriously send shivers down the spine. Picking these heavy bikes after every fall required all the strength , yet to this day will be best of memory :). I am so glad you made it !!!
