My 2021 Grizzly EPS with 26" tires tops out at 60 mph, maybe 61 if the wind blows from behind me. The wives kodiak EPS 700 hits 64-65 mph. The airbox problem was on the older Grizzly, 2019 down. Yamaha redesigned the box so it seals better. We ride in dust constantly and when I clean the filter there's no dust in the intake. We run stock Yamaha filters, bought 2 extra so we can just clean out box, swap filters and ride. Clean the dirty ones later. The Grizzly isn't perfect but its a good dependable quick trail riding machine. It won't out run a 850 or 1000 on the dunes but can hang with anything in the woods. I've owned a bunch of Yamaha's and a couple of Hondas. I've had no problems with my Yamaha's and they go anywhere we point them on the hunting property and most people wouldn't do what we do on our quads. Great machines!!

You're going to find out pretty quickly that the Grizzly is nearly unstoppable with those Zilla tires. I have '21 Grizzly SE and it handles everything I throw at it with ease. It is so planted on off cambers and just tractors up super steep hills like no other quad I have owned. Best thing you can do to a new Grizzly (or any quad) is invest in full skid plates. Congrats on the bike!

I love my rubicon 520 foot shift 2023 and would buy another one hands down. IT answers all my needs for working on my homestead and slow trail riding in first gear with my wife. I am aware that the yamaha outperforms the honda but I really like the low engine noise and low engine heat of the honda and the peace of mind of the mecanical simplicity and durabilty of a foot shift.

I have both a '20 rubicon and a '23 grizzly. I'm normally a honda guy but the grizzly is better in about every catagory. The grizzly has much less vibration through the foot pegs, is much more powerful, still pretty good on gas, no gears to jerk you since the cvt is smooth as silk, the suspension is much better and easier on my back. The storage is better and its wider which gives mroe confidence. The honda has better quality plastics, the panels come off easier, its quieter by quite a bit, the gear trans may be better for towing and work, it is a little better on gas, it has more trail based tires versus the mud tires on the yamaha. While I still like them both if I only could have one it would be the yamaha every time. The honda 520 engine was a bit of a let down. I also have a 420 rancher and it outran the 520 until I did some mods. Minus the front diff lock and low range you can get a rancher irs and save a lot money over the rubicon. However, in that price range I am probably again going to go yamaha kodiak.

I use over the tire straps to trailer my Kodiak . And you can call me stupid or whatever you want, but I put mine in neutral when I strap it down because 1 i don’t want my transmission ruined. 2 if the strap comes loose that’s my fault 100% (unless the strap literally breaks her snaps, which is very unlikely) and I deserve whatever happens. 3 if you strap your shit down the proper way you are suppose to you shouldnt have to put your quad in park

I looked hard at a 23 grizzly. Agree with belt but not so much belt. Reason being I have 3400 miles on this sportsman 570 and original belt. Dad has a can am 1000 and has 7000 miles finally had his belt replaced but was good. They don't break. But on Polaris 570 I can do it in 30 minutes. But unless you try breaking them they don't. But Yamaha is so smooth engaging. I loved that. Loved the gas cap in back on grizzly. Loved all the available accessories. But I hated how the plastic didn't fit anywhere. Especially on rear storage. The front is good. But my sportsman has way more storage. Front cover lifts up on rack, and rear is big and both water tight. I prefer the sportsman all wheel drive. No diff lock but I can't get mine stuck and it's one switch. That's easy. The halogen headlight I like as it melts snow. LEDs generate no heat. If your in snow halagon is better. I like the yellow on snow. But led is awesome almost always. But I'd keep the pod halogen as the color spectrum is longer range and better in blinding snow. Engine is I'm sure great after they totally failed with the Subaru thing. But my 570 pro star is I bet just as good. People here have 10,000 on rangers easy. But the gate shifter on left is perfect, the butter engagement is best in business by a mile, and it looks real good. But the plastic fitting poorly, the plastic on pod light in the 23 was seriously bent, and Yamaha needed to do better. I passed but I love the transmission smoothness so much I still would consider a griz. It really looks good. Can't wait for your longevity vids on it. Again absolutely love your work. Best online! Good luck with the new Yamaha!

Yeah at the end of the day every big name brand is going to get the job done and it’s always mostly preference. I’m actually really impressed by the new can am 700’s. They shift almost better than the grizzly and the clutch engagement is close to as good. If they are reliable they will be a great choice. I have heard that about the halogen bulb in the past but never know. Appreciate the compliment
@brandonzempel6106
@brandonzempel6106 7 ай бұрын
I am somewhat knowledgeable on them all. Go to a dealer a ways away often just to look. Then spend a lot of time watching videos but yes yours are the best. Polaris dealer is close tho so stay with them as kinda need your machine backed up. I have wanted forever to get a Japan brand as our Honda three-wheeler still runs on farm. But to buy anything but Polaris is going to force me a long drive if I can't fix it. Suzuki quad King 750 I rode. Absolutely loved it but dealer sells hardly any and again long ways away. But no factory windshield, it's cold in MN. No factory heated grips, no storage. Kawasaki brute force 750 I loved but no accessories, windshield unavailable, and 35 watt halogen only. No pod. No storage. They said that motor is best. 40,000 miles was apparently once recorded. They did make an update as we speak tho??? Hmm. Can am my dad has a side by side that he never shuts off. Honestly has 1400 hours, 700 miles. Just lets it run with ac and heat all day. Belt was perfect at recent service. The way the ATVs tho have the shifter right under the handlebars no way. I thought the shifting itself was sticky and bad. Motor and machine I believe is excellent tho. That's why I'm saying CVT isn't as bad in Polaris and Can am as people say. Not as good as Yamaha Grizzly no. My 20 sportsman 570 has 3400 miles and only a brake light has failed. It's like 8 grease points but I'm a shop guy and how hard is it to hit 8 very accessible zerks? If you don't bushings will fail. But in my 570 I could get any of the arms in a day. They stock everything and it's seriously simple and they are cheap. If you want to upgrade to sealed it's not much more. I just prefer maintaining it and everything is tight at 3400. Fit and finish are spot on and it rides unbelievable. But my favorite part of my sportsman is to start you just pull a hand brake or push the foot brake and turn the key. Just like a vehicle. No reaching for the key to turn. Then a brake, then a button. I think it's the best starting design by far. And it starts. Minnesota it's always almost immediate. Use 5-50. Think they get a bad rap from the ones Polaris put out in the 90s. They got better and sell a lot. Many of the happy people like me never talk. I think my 20 sportsman is seriously great. Honda I have no idea aside from your videos. I would give anything to try a Rubicon for a while. It's the total wild card for me as absolutely no one has any here and no one ever has. I called that dealership that's a ways away that technically is a Honda dealership but they said we couldn't even get one and why would you want one? 12000 for a 500. I don't usually go above 20 so I'm ok with that. But they do offer a factory windshield, heated grips and throttle, so they have accessories. I'm going to go to Minneapolis soon and look at one. But I'll have zero dealer support within a long ways. But your videos sold my want to still consider. Automatic transmission, shifting, I gotta try one. The grizzly has accessories. Factory windshield, factory heated grips, throttle and a decent website. Best engagement in all ATVs, the 700 was once seriously good. They tried changing and a few years had big issues, but now back to the 700. I'm sure it's great again. But there were too many plastic issues, storage was not tight and due to that could not sell my sportsman., yet. Didn't like the headlights loose. Maybe there is a reason for that but the plastic, storage, and my frame of 3 years and 3400 is still like new. Had the grizzly not had all the plastic issues I would have traded due to how perfect the shifter and engagement was. I just couldn't overlook the 23 models plastic issues. Probably cosmetic only tho. Ill Look again. But I want to see what Kawasaki does. Did they actually update and keep their 750 twin? Will they offer accessories?I Will be seeing a 24 Rubicon soon. Apologize for the lengthy reply. I agree they all likely work now. I just wish I could have all 6. Well not a can am just because I hit my hand shifting it. Will try never to get so far off topic but am addicted to ATVs.

While Polaris is the best as far as factory accessories, Yamaha is now right there. But the intake issue they had is real. They now offer a factory solution on their website. It's a relatively simple option. It looks like its just an extension off the air box coupling piece. You said you're keeping it stock but being Yamaha themselves offer the upgrade I thought I'd mention it. I know I asked about it as I ride in dust often when I looked at that 23 and they say they knew nothing about any issue. I was looking at their website recently and saw it. If it were me I'd do it since Yamaha themselves suddenly have the adapter now on their website. Seems not to be a I heard or read thing anymore. Not much more important than clean air.
@brandonzempel6106
@brandonzempel6106 7 ай бұрын
My apologies. I saw articles on that. Dealer was correct. That adapter is not for a grizzly. And nothing Yamaha did wrong. I thought I was looking at grizzly parts. Is for a sport quad pure upgrade. I had seen stuff regarding dust getting in and misread Yamaha sight on what was what. I read that issue when I was considering that machine. It must not be right. That's definitely not a part for that.

Canam Outlander DPS 700 is pretty good value or if you ride more mud then outlander xmr 700 is pretty good. As far as yamaha the kodiak 700 eps is almost the same as the grizzly for a lot less money. If you are willing to gamble cfmoto in the last two years has made big jumps in quality and a cforce 600 is a pretty good deal but I would make sure you have a good dealer in your area before going that route. I've seen last year (2023) model yamahas for more than $2k off right now at different dealerships so you might was to see if anyone locally has last year stock.

Probably Polaris sportsman 850, can get one the same price as these grizzlys. Twice the power of the Yamaha. Yamaha keeps raising prices almost every year for the same bike. I had a 1998 grizzly 600 and went to a 2020 700 and I was not impressed at all, power is almost the same and honestly the ride quality feels the same. Yamaha was the biggest cc atv in the world in 1998, unfortunately they haven't done anything suspension wise since 2007 and almost nothing power wise since 1998. The dumb canadian edition is over 17 grand with taxes now and they come with the lightest cheapest foam tires you can get, imo zillas wear really quick and they feel like there made of foam. The diffs are meant to flex a bit, i don't know anyone personally who has had a problem with the rear diff and I know pple that run them hard.

@@greygrizzlyoutdoors1764 Polaris is hit or miss on quality. Seems to be a lot of upkeep to keep them on the trail. Its also 100 lbs heavier than the Grizzly. My 2020 Grizzly with a hmf and power commander slightly beats my buddies buddies brute force. 90% of our riding is 40mph and under so speed/power isn't a primary factor. The grizzly sips much less gas than the polaris 1000,800, and brutes that I ride with but is beaten by my Rubicon 520 and Rancher 420 by just a bit. Suspension wise the grizzly is much better than the brutes that I have rode and the hondas but I'm sure not up to polaris quality since that is their claim to fame. The yamaha cvt is best in the industry. I definately agree on the pricing but that is pretty much across the board for most industries. A big mac had higher percentage markups than a yamaha. Unfortunately that the economy we live in at the moment.

I enjoy the simplicity of a single cylinder and it’s still plenty of power.
