8:44 as someone who owned the minecraft xbox one s, i can confirm that its not supposed to have that power on sound. its one of those consoles that is supposed to have a unique startup sound which in this case is supposed to be a shortened version of the minecraft theme song. so yup you got duped.

The tape was already enough for me, that was probably a reproduction case for it and just made it. I got a "original" blue PS3 controller the metallic blue one off eBay and they SHOW the real one. Happy story tho, it came with tape on top of the Sony logo because that's illegal to do but they put it there for something I think. I did message them and they were actually nice and answered and gave me my money back. That just sits in a draw now I think I'll use the thumb sticks to fix one of my real ones too maybe. The tape, yeah when you see that stay far far away.

The big tell was the covering of the logos with tape. Chinese knockoff sellers do that for whatever reason, probably to try to pull the rug over customs.

i have the Xbox One S Minecraft Edition, not only the HDD is wrong (originally is 1TB) but the sound when u turn on and off is from a normal Xbox One S but the worst is the metal case inside, you can see the redstone trace in the plastic case but in the real Minecraft Edition there is another redstone trace in the metal chassis inside.

It’s a rebuilt console. The dead giveaway were the waterslide decals, which is what the black tape is. They probably got the outer case from someone who builds Xbox cases and recased a normal Xbox one S.

I ordered the 360 version of GTA 4 from Amazon. It came in a generic black DVD case, the art cover was the "Classics Best Sellers" edition but the disc inside was the original game. It was completely Frankensteined lol. Amazon is terrible for pre-owned games. If you can't see an image of it, then don't buy it. eBay is better for pre-owned games.

Which is why the stickers on the logo are still present (they need to hide logos when being exported from China due to customs or something, i fix laptops for a living and all of the aftermarket laptop housings I've ever bought came with the logos hidden just like that. This would explain the lack of serial number stickers as well. The seller likely bought 100s of these limited edition housings and is poorly swapping them with regular consoles to raise their value.

December last year I got an Amazon refurbished Xbox 360 E It worked great the only things I noticed was the controller had mismatched joysticks and the console wasn’t factory reset

The xbox one minecraft edition is a cheap chinese reshell, the missing sticker is a big red flag for that and they have to tape over the xbox logos for import reasons - 100% fake, plus no start up sound.

That Minecraft is replacement shell from Aliexpress for $50. Got that one myself too. Looks identical to the origina, but probably actually an original one but something that was remanufactured by the factory or someone or was excess stock that was sitting aside which didn't make into the wild.

You should try looking at the console through the camera sometimes because on the front of the series X you could see pretty decent wear around the pairing button.

🤔With the Xbox 360, did you try unplugging it and replugging it and turning it on? My friend had a 360 that RRoD but that's all you need to do and it would work until the next time you turn it on, then you have to repeat the same process again😅

I got my original Xbox at my local retro store for $95 with two free games and it was the latest version which was made in 05 I think so it didn’t have the clock compositor issue so i definitely got lucky compared to people who bought from different websites 😂

The thing about amazon is unless the option you buy is straight from amazon direct, you will mostly be dealing with 3rd party sellers, the trick is finding a good one with good star ratings which most people never bother to do (hence all the scammed people that gave 1 star reviews)

I never buy used from Amazon because the sellers hardly ever give photos so the condition is always one major mystery until it arrives eBay gives photos and you can communicate with the seller if you need more info or want make offers and check to see what they are cool with gives a open mind to what type of seller your dealing with as well I only use Amazon for new and pre orders occasionally I will order used if it's a seller I trust or photos are given

Yeah, I saw the tape over the xbox logos and i knew instantly it was an aftermarket case. They do it with limited edition PSPs all the time. You have to be really caeeful looking for an original.

I have a question about something in case if anyone here would actually happen to know since I just thought of asking. Sometimes here on KZbin when I post comments on videos, if I happen to include a lot of timestamps for certain videos in several posts, especially all at one time and in a short period of time, it actually causes KZbin to temporarily have me blocked from commenting on videos and they sometimes even remove some of the timestamp comments that I've created too. Does KZbin consider timestamp comments as spam and if so, how and why? I just thought of asking since that's something I've been noticing myself lately whenever I would try to post a lot of timestamps in my comment posts sometimes even though a lot of other people usually do it here on KZbin anyway.
